Is this the first time ever that we have been honored with the number one position? Oh well, I don't put much credence into a poll where he's got NMSU listed at number 6 and also on the waiting list. The doofass doesn't even proofread his work.

We can use this to motivate like George S. Patton....

"I do not measure a man's success by how high he climbs, but how high he bounces when he hits bottom." - George S. Patton

"Accept the challenges, so you may feel the exhilaration of victory" - George S. Patton

but if UNT traditon keeps in place will use it to demodivate.....

Well, I'm gonna go on record and say that the MG will not be in that poll at the end of the season. I just think this team is going to surprise.

I think the team should be good enough to get out of ESPN's and anybody else's bottom 10.

Hey, great motivation...that's the good news here...if you can't get motivated to proved this a "pile of do do", then you just shouldn't be playing team sports. If I were Dodge and Co., I would have this plastered all over the locker room and would mention it often. Could be the motivation that will help the Mean Green get out of the gate with a fast start and early wins. Again, opinions are worth what one pays for them...just like those here on GMG.com. Everyone has 'em...they come fairly inexpensively and fairly often.

GO MEAN GREEN!

I want to think that, but then I remember that we are starting a freshman at QB and that our defense was the worst in football the last two years. I can see where we improve GREATLY and win 3 games this year. Will that get us off the Bottom 10 list??--probably, but I guess it would depend on who we beat. I will say this, if we have two wins or less, Bottom 10 will be a definite and Dodge will be gone (unless we cannot afford to let him go).

I agree. I hate to think of the consequences if we cannot afford to let him go. But for now: GO MEAN GREEN. GO DODGES. See you in the top 100 at the end of the season!

There's a couple of things to keep in mind about that rating:

1. We're listed below Western Kentucky after beating them two consecutive years.

2. After the first game of the season, we'll know something about this team.
