I was very impressed tonight with Chris Brainard....a redshirt freshman from SLC. (#87)

Speedy......has some burners......reminded me of Evan Fentriss.

You should have seen him at the Oil Bowl game last year. He was probably one circus catch for a TD away from being the Offensive MVP for the game.

Jeremy Knott kicked a 47 yard and a 52 yard field goal... both with room to spare.

:) Me likes long fieldgoal accuracy. How did the two backup walkon kickers and new rookie punter look?

Backup kicker looked... well... let's just say he missed a couple chip shots and kicked two out of bounds on return drills.

ditto that, Chris and Bennie Jones were very impressive. They stood out in the WR group.

Our defense was flying allover the place players that stood out:

Jeremy Phillips : 1 int , 2 pass break ups pass from Riley Dodge

Royce Hill: 1 flying grab int pass from Riley Dodge

Brandon Akpunku: 1 sack

sacks also came from our DT although I did not get the names.

I like Coach Nelson and the way he coaches. He is very involved (needs to be)

Coach Gandy is very energetic and I appreciate that.

Umm... quarterback updates anyone? I haven't heard a word about how Riley is doing. Anyone seen anything?

You might check out last night's chat: http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...TCLID=204772546

Steven B: there has been alot of concern about No. 11 and his ability to throw the deep ball.....There is some legitamate worry there, his arm isn't a cannon but it's accurate....If your looking for a Randall Cunningham type arm, forget it, it's more like a Todd Reesing from Kansas, who I think Riley reminds me of.

Steven B:

So long no. 11.....Wow, left cut up the middle, back to the right and gone....that would have been a 70 yard TD except the whistles blew....He adds a big element to the running game.

Riley threw a couple of picks and got sacked a couple of times. Short passing game looks good, accurate and zip on the ball

Nathan Tune looks good and had some good series.

Chase Baine looks quick but short.l seems to have a good grasp of what is going on

Derek Thompson nice size, off on some throws but looked OK

By the way, this is what the QB depth chart might look like.
