On Saturday, thousands of people showed up at a forum in Denton, nearly overwhelming organizers.

...

"This notion of a grassroots campaign is totally and completely phony. The Republican party has coordinated this apparent outrage and stirred it up," said representative Lloyd Doggett (D) of Texas.

Democrats KNOW they don't have the support, so they are going to paint citizens that take part in the process as kooks.

But the important point is they know the truth, which is why I think you will see Dems run from this when they go back to Washington. Self preservation always comes before party affiliation with politicians.

I pray that the politicians run from this thing. These are very troubling times for the citizens of the United States and we do not need a huge upheavel...there have been enough of them already.

Just about every news service is reporting the anger of Americans, across the nation, about the health care legislation. Good reason to be angry. The democrats do not want to face the crowds and some are, now, resorting to phone conferences. Democracy in action.

I heard a very good point last night on the news. Democrats are claiming these protests are staged or fabricated - but you simply cannot fabricate anger.

Democrats have pulled out the old play book of accusing their problems on the ol' Republican Scare Machine. But the fact is that the polls on this issue have taken a dramatic u-turn as more Americans find out what this is all about.

Congress needs to start over and pass a bill that doesn't nationalize health care, but passes a law that will:

- Reduce costs by reducing the length of pharmaceutical patents

- Allow emergency rooms to turn away non-emergency cases

- Require insurance to cover pre-existing conditions for those who HAD insurance that covered the condition when it was discovered

- Offer interest free student loans to all medical-related college majors

- Offer annual student loan credits to physicians and nurses who provide free or low-cost care to the poor
