Why is not allowing gas wells to be drilled across the street from a city park, a hospital and medical facilities and residential areas voting "No" on development. I think there are valid concerns regarding this and the citizens have the right to be heard.

Now, I agree that Denton has historically been difficult for developers to work with and has hindered needed development throughout the years, but gas wells basically in town should be a concern. Why not move the wells to the western edge of the property near I35? Seems to me this would satisfy many of the homeowners, but would delay the development of the ever important frontage property.

Because it would increase costs, and the city of Denton has no right to deny the permit. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

How long has it taken this city to get Loop 288 built? 10 years? And they're still not finished with that.

BTW...someone wrote to the D-RC that as soon as the DART rail lines are built up here.....that part of Loop 288 (near I-35E) will have to be torn up again.

No offense, but this town is run by a bunch of morons.

Drilling, very bad idea..... Seriously bad.... Not good for kids health....

Hey what ever happened to all of the retail that was to be built in that area, oh yeah, it was all a scam, its been four years and now they want to drill wells. Nice....

This development company has no clue what they are doing and they need to be run off, they have made promises and havent delivered, I really feel bad for Denton, they cant get any decent development.

I actually have my development going towards a Planning and Zoning vote, sometime this August, wish me luck....If this goes through I can have my own business and not worry about finding a job.

Playing the kid card is absurd. How exactly does a gas well pose any greater threat to kids than the 4 lane road adjacent to the park?

Construction on the Ranch has started again. It wasn't a scam, it was an issue with financing.

I took aerial obliques of it July 25, and concrete is getting poured. Rayzor is looking much better from the air.

Flyer is correct in a couple of areas here...the develoopment of Razor Ranch has been delayed due to financing and some work has re-strated...Denton, since I moved here in 1965, has been anti-development and anti-business...the examples are so numeropus as to be absurb...drilling does no greater harm to kids than a major highway next to a park, etc. Pklaying the kid card is like a certain president playing the race card...pretty big stretch. No offense meant, but Denton does all it can to shoot itself in the foot every time a bit of development wants to try to do something in Denton....I guess Denton would much prefer the major tax burden to remain on the homeowners...NICE...

I'll say that the drills might be an eyesore, but that's as far as my objection goes. It's better that the gas be used when drilled instead of burned off like I've seen done in other places. I do agree though, I think that the Denton City Council has more than a few alumni from the State School.

As for 288 - that thing was such a gaggleclusterhump. It took TxDOT to build the High-5 in less time than it took whomever was in charge of 288 9 years to fix it. That's like taking 6 months to build a Bugatti Veyron vs taking 3 years to make a Kia.

288 has be screwed up and under some form of construction just east of I35 since I was in school and we are talking some twenty years.
