What do you figure that we'll open with Cameron again?

It wouldn't bother me if that played that game at the Snake Pit again. That was fun last year---just for one game.

Why are you guys playing Cameron? There are several D2 schools that are closer, and would bring more fans.

Why not bring in Texas State? Our team pretty much sucks, so you will get a D1 win out of it.

To Chrisattsu: You have never heard of the heated rivalry between North Texas and Newman? Seriously, the A.D. at Newman is Vic Trilli, who used to coach here at NT...it seems it is a favor to him to let his team come in and get swamped by the Mean Green....their fan base for the game will not fill a men's rest room.

Chris asked about Cameron, which is our regular season opener. Newman is an exhibition game.

Paying a guarantee to a D-II school is cheaper than Texas State.

Also, Larry Teis is secretly plotting the utter destruction of the University of North Texas. We can't let him in the castle walls, or he might set off a dirty bomb. Or something like that... I wasn't in on the phone call.

I like the OSU and A&M OOC games... big time, real opportunities to beat up on the Big 12.

A&M will be a preseason Top 25 team and OSU will be very good and possibly ranked as well.

I can't believe I didn't mention this earlier - but we're starting conference kinda early this season. Usually we begin league around the 20th or so(I think a few years ago we might have even waited till after Christmas). Typically we have a non league game or two AFTER beginning Sun Belt play. Maybe this season we'll have more?

I'd love this game... Pretty much any other time in the season. As it stands, we're going to Boise State to play our 3rd game in a week, just 7 days after traveling to Oklahoma State. And Boise is a pretty stout team... 19 wins last year, 25 and an NCAA bid the year before.

Tough situation, on the road, against a potentially dangerous team. Hopefully we've got what it takes to handle the challenges.

So far.....the home OOC schedule pretty much sucks.

We know we go to A $ M, Okie State, UTA and Boise State in OOC on the road.

And the only two home OOC games so far are Jax State and Cameron.

      That is very subjective. Boise State or UNLV probably will get the G5 spot in the playoff over a one loss Army team. Louisville, SMU, Houston, Rutgers and Cincinnati left conference for greener pastures. So I don’t know who anointed the AAC as 5th, but the playoff committee isn’t listening to them. Army, a team brand new to the conference that came into the conference and dominated. They were independent juggernauts last year at 6-6 🙄. AAC is viewed as better than the MAC, CUSA and Sun Belt. But we certainly won’t be viewed as better than the reconstructed PAC 12 and right now it doesn’t look like we are viewed better than the current MWC.

      Football at The Dat next wrekend

      Don't if y'all know this or not.....but the last two years we've had Texas high school football games played in Louisiana. Both years the games have been at Turpin Stadium in Natchitoches. As a matter of fact, this year they hosted two games on the same day. (Daingerfield versus Newton, and Texarkana versus Port Neches Grove). Both games were last Friday.
