2009 Prediction

Recommended Posts

I hesitate to make any predictions for this team this year after my horrible prognostication last year. With that said, there are definitely reasons for optimism.

Main reasons in my opinion, are the wholesale increases in OL and DL numbers, and increases in strength and bulk at those positions. If there can be any semblance of a platoon situation on the DL, there can be some pretty quick improvements in the W-L columns, if the current depth chart is any indication.

Consistent pressure on the QB from UNT's DL automagically makes the secondary much better, and could be the difference in 3-4 games this year. We'll see how that goes. Coaching? Yes, it's vitally important. So is depth, size, and speed. The defense appears to be in better shape than they have been in several years, the team chemistry is allegedly where it needs to be...all signs say "optimism". We'll see.

Honestly, it's difficult for me not to expect an improvement in wins to perhaps the 4 to 5 game mark, but I'm not going to make any guesses about from where they will come.
