Read today where Univ. of Florida negotiated a contract with Urban Meyer to push his salary over the $4M mark, making him the second highest paid coach behind Peter Carroll.

It makes him the third-highest-paid coach in the country behind Pete Carroll's reported $4.4 million salary at USC and Charlie Weis' $4.2 million at Notre Dame.

Last year June Jones was paid $2,000,000 per win. We got quite a bargain.

Funny, that is also what I thought when I saw his name, too. Did you notice that the top two non-AQ BCS coaches were Jones at SMU and Patterson at TCU? Its tough being the poor guy at the party, especially when its in your own backyard. Then again, its nothing new, either.

Well, in fairness, it lines up pretty well with this: http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.ph...&hl=revenue

So, AV, does this mean you're back?

Ugh, that other list is just depressing. As for me being back, well I went ahead and renewed MGC; it was a close call and it has not been that since I started. I am needing a clear statement from the university's most senior leadership that they are firmly committed to being a consistent top 75 football program starting within 5 years, and that they will aggressively tap every available resource to achieve that goal. If they don't come out and announce that during this season, then I won't be back. The time for hedging, wavering, soft-selling and hesitating is over.
