Broken Collarbone? Sounds like he's far too fragile to play college football.

Sounds like the injury-prone label fits to me. What's next, a concussion?

In all seriousness though. I am glad he has been reinstated.

Prior to the season ending injury was he used as an outside WR? Is he a speedster?

Maybe we should move him somewhere less physically demanding, like wide receiver or... Hmm, nevermind.

So when will we find out about Tyler Stratford?

In a recent quote, Todd Dodge said other coaches had told him something to the effect, "If you try putting a timetable on it, you'll drive yourself crazy." In other words, nobody has any idea when we'll find out. Before the Ball State game would be nice.

He's just the latest at tU to get caught. I'll set the over-under for more HORNs to get in trouble with the law before the 2009 season starts at 2.

Yep, as long a you can play football, felonies are no big deal. I think the lesson he learned was that since he has athletic ability, he gets special treatment. If he is like most, he will expect the same next time he commits a felony. Does anyone think that if this guy was a walk on he is still on the team? But I guess that is society these days, so:

Go Rucker. I seriously hope you have 20 touchdown catches this year.

Well, if he were your average everyday walk on, I don't think his odds of being on the team would be all that hot anyway. Also, if he were not in the spotlight as a guy with athletic ability, he probably would have gotten a slight slap on the wrist with reduced charges for that crime EVEN if the charges were not dropped. Whatever the deal is here, I certainly hope that he has gotten his stuff together in a BIG way, and that he can also contribute to this football team in a way that will be beneficial to everyone. We shall see.

Not trying to Scarlet letter the guy, but the message it sends to him is that he is special and can get away with things other members of society cannot. I just hope he is mature enough to realize this will not always be the case.

So your saying that if he was just a regular Jo attending UNT, that UNT would not have let him back in school, but since he played football he was allowed to? Do you think that if he was just an intermural player that Rec Sports would not allow him to play anymore? I understand people's reasoning about certain athletes getting special treatment, but this guy admitted to what he did wrong, apologized and did what he could to help the situation, went through the justice system, paid his time in not only public scrutiny (which by the way, if he wasn't an athlete nobody would have cared) but also had to sit out a year of football, and got the charges dropped. Now your saying that even though the UNITED STATES says that this guy is a FREE man and did not commit a felony, UNT should not allow him to play football? May I remind you that if you ran a business that way and refused to hire someone based solely on the fact that he was under investigation for a felony that you your self would be braking the law.

      Attendance

      Section 109 and 110 Army fans were great. Other than them, I am the loudest guy in that area. Mostly just loud, sometimes obnoxious. North Texas fans, every game, are less tolerant of my shenanigans on the whole, but I got props from both groups yesterday. ARMY fan was louder than our fan. I don't know if that is a reflection of them outnumbering us or that they had more to cheer about and/or louder than when our fans celebrations. Lots of North Texas fans wear/wore black. And lots of NT fans were also served in the Army. I find it very difficult to cheer against ARMY, and I suspect other NT fans feel the same way. The Mean Green on the field wore more black than the black knights, but looked good anyway. We had West Point family and friends at our tailgate and served fantastic food (thanks to the lasses). Overall, its about as much fun as I have had at any North Texas game we lost. And it was a great joy to cheer on @FirefightnRick as he was feted yesterday. Well done, FFR! GMG

      Today We Were the Visitors on Our Home Field...

      #Hit6 was our campaign over a decade ago. It shouldn't be good enough for any of us today. We should have increased our expectations by now. UNT is a 5-4 team that started the season 5-1. Now UNT is below .500 in AAC play. We beat on bums. Until we actually step up and beat good teams, we can't be a good team. So, we will now go to a POS bowl and play a team from the Sun Belt, C-USA, or MAC. Wow, does that suck. Nobody wants to pay money to go see that. They wouldn't even pay money to drive to DATCU and watch this Mean Green team face a Top #25 Army program. So our 400,000 alums will continue to stay home while programs like Army make us visitors at DATCU. I hate it. I really do. But it won't change as long as our fans and donors continue to make excuses and accept the #Hit6 mentality.

      I’m just not that gutted this morning. Now if our defense reverts back to giving up 45 on Friday, I will be upset. And it could totally happen as they play O down south. We are a rhythm offense. We could never catch a rhythm and the defense really played hard. They were wacked and kept giving us a random chance. I’d take a fraction of that resolve in San Antonio and if we get it we win. Morris and the team will see space and gaps and speedy receivers getting open in Green. It will be a telling game and the beasts who they played hard against are in the rearview. San Antonio and East Carolina will be tough, but right now the focus is getting 6. Then get more, then win the bowl game. There are still juicy elevation goals ahead. GMG
