OK, a report I just saw says the Michael Vick is close to signing with a team...at least he said he is...did not mention the team in question. However, it reminded me of an article in Today's' Wall Street Journal talking about what position Vick would play if he returned to the NFL. The article seemed to think he would not be as a full-time QB as it would take too long to lean the full offensive package with a new team (??????), but may be best suited to line up in the Wildcat formation which, the article stated, many more NFL teams will utilize in one variation or another this season after Miami's success with it last season. One reason given for Vick's future not being at QB was the fact that he would rather run than throw and that no NFL team in today's environment could consistently win with a QB that runs when he should throw to open receivers. Said Vick would often run when there were open receivers down field. He would just "panic" (my word) and run it seems.

What say you? Is Vick a NFL QB or his he better suited for the Wildcat role, receiver role...what?

As far as should he be able to sign back with an NFL team...my opinion...absolutely. Stupid, mistake by a guy with too much money on his hands and too little life experience. Too many "hanger on's" around on the take influencing what he does...heck, they have let guys whose "crimes" involved gun use against human beings...this was dog fighting. While that is stupid and illegal and just cruel to the animals...it is not shooting another human being. Sorry, i do place human beings a bit higher up on the "food chain" of priorities than I do dogs. I know some folks would disagree, but that's my opinion...but this question is about where Vick should play when reinstated...not if he should be reinstated.

Seriously, he's not as bad as everyone thinks. As the brother of a Falcons enthusiast, I've watched him in person a few times and he has issues with timing, but as a change-of-pace bench option or trick play specialist, he is a good pick up.

Plus, unlike Leonard Little or Dante Stallworth -- no humans killed!

Wonder what Vick would have posted in the legalize marihuana thread. Not sayin he is, but he always looks stoned.

I know, I know, paid his dues and all that stuff, but the dude still looks high.

      Odus Mitchell - What Exactly are Too High Standards at UNT?

      We have only had 4 coaches [I missed Jack Sisco] since 1913 out of a total of 18 who exited North Texas with winning records, Hayden Fry being the last in 1978. Goals and objectives must be realistic and obtainable with a little pie in the sky. Quite honestly I have no idea what we our standard should be, only what it has become . However, expect more are you will get less ,which seems to be the norm for our football program.

      I’ll say this as well - There are people in my group of 20+ season ticket holders that have held them since 2003 questioning if they’ll renew next year because it’s not fun anymore. It feels hopeless after 20+ years. They’re just saying, I’ll keep supporting basketball because at least we have a real program and coaching staff that we can all believe in through wins and losses. No one believes in the football coaching staff - except Patrick Cobbs - who we might as well elevate to HC. He’s the only one that actually produces and legitimately gives a shit about UNT. This program’s situation is dire whether the AD realizes it or not.

      I certainly am not making excuses for the termination of Caponi and agree that it was overdue. However I am surprised that our AD and not HC was the one who reportedly pulled the trigger. I owned a medical device sales agency for 30 years and can testify that no one like firing an employee. In fact those who do , unless its a really egregious act, usually wait longer than the should because the real mistake was made by you in hiring them in the first place. Having said that I have never terminated an employ that didn't expect it and in most cases were relieved that the ax finally dropped.

      It is obvious that no one is stopping you from voicing your displeasure with the program. I also wonder where you get anyone is happy with the season. As for as the resources, there is no way that you know that to be true, unless you know their NIL numbers and their real budget. Hint, what is reported can be made to look about anyway you want by manipulating the numbers. I am truly regretful that NT is likely not going to be invited to the Rose Bowl and will be relegated to a subpar bowl and opponent.
