Media will always call Republicans stupid. They have been doing it since Ford, and did it to Reagan, the great communicator. The vast majority of Americans understand this and, I think, take it into account when deciding issues.

It is a shame that there are very few fact based reporters left in this country (and basically no investigative reporters). They either report for the left or for the right. Their profession has sunk to the level of a politician in my book. The problem is the left has control of what I consider mainstream. Almost all newspapers (who reads them anymore anyway), ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN, The right has Fox News and talk radio (kinda outnumbered).

If you went through all of Pres. Obama's speeches, you surely would find highlight reel material to make him look like an idiot. But that is more of a left media function than a right media function so far. Just look at Pres. Obama's comments on the Cambridge deal. Everyone who speaks publicly 100 times a year is going to have embarassing moments.

I don't like her, but see no reason to constantly ball kick her.

Honestly, she does not sound any better or worse than any other members of the United States Congress or possibly in the individual state legislatures. Will have to agree with UNT90 that in today's sound-bite world of broadcasting anyone can pick out the best or worst of speeches from anyone. Makes for good propaganda for whichever party one considers themselves affiliatied with.

This is all part of my left agenda - and sorry UNT90, but a one of the aspects of my job is media training for crisis response. Regardless of affiliation, it's easy to see she is terrible. Obama -and Biden have had some bad moments, but nothing can compare to the train wreck this woman has been since she just feel a part with Couric before the election.

Maybe it's because her teleprompter broke...Oh, wait...wrong politician who has to use a teleprompter even at press conferences...oh, wait, the guy doesn't have actual press conferences he has "set up question" conferences with the press.

That being said, I never felt that Palin's best attribute as a politician/candidate was her ability to speak in public. But, it was "refreshing" to see someone take on the media from the public pulpit. Is she "done" as a politician? Time will tell. I really do not think her career will be determined by what we think on GMG.com, but "our" thoughts and comments might just be a good sample of what the overall public thinks...seems even in her home state of Alaska the "jury is out" on her "staying power". We'll see...should be fun.

This from the past week. Should be filed under things that you discuss privately, and not publicly. Just go ahead and tell them our strategy. I would love to play poker with this guy.

Just one example of something old Joking Joe has done that is far worse than anything that Palin has ever said.

I give up. If a criticism of Palin somehow equals a defense of Obama/Biden, all debate here is doomed.

No no, just pointing out old Joe's propensity to shove his leg thigh high down his throat. Just a public speaking example and giving a little equal time to the Bash Palin thread. I wonder how Joe would react if he was ever questioned in the manner that Palin was questioned by Couric, but, then again, that will and has never happened. It doesn't seem it would be to hard to crack this nut.

Those on here that really think Palin is ready to be anything but a governor of a state with the population of Ennis, TX. should watch her first appearance with McCain. Biggest shake voice ever.

All I can say is that I was not totally adverse to McCain pulling out the election until Palin came along. Although, I suppose were it she who was speaking to the media about Russia, she wouldn't have tipped any hand. She would instead have gone off on a ten-minute demonstration of incomprehensible gibberish thus leaving the Russians absolutely confused. Maybe that would have been a good thing.

All that blustering back and forth and we agree - again.

But, did the press pick up on these comments from Mr. Biden? Where are the SNL and Letterman skits??? I wonder what would have been said if that were Sarah Palin, George Bush, etc.? And, there are still folks out there who think the media is not biased toward the democratic party. You have just got to be kidding me.

Here...from TIME Magazine via CNN.

Legit news outlets...not some moron with a modem and a blogspot account.

I think it is a matter of prospective. When I was a Bush defender I was so pissed at the media constantly criticizing him. I think I was probably more pissed that those "idiot" reporters/media folks didn't agree with the "right" (i.e., correct, not to the right) point of view.

Once McCain and Palin became my only republican choice, and Obama and Biden were the only democratic choice (none of my favorites) then I began seeing that there are SNL skits about all of them, and the media picks on all of them. CNN bashes Obama daily (and they show support for him too). Palin is an idiot that was elected because she is a fireball that spouts out key phrases and slogans like "I am for gun rights" and "I'm pro life" but she has no substance. She is CERTAINLY all talk and no walk. Sure she took on the bridge deal and the energy companies with the help from MANY others but she is a puppet (as are most politicians) and she spouts nonsense.

Just trying not to ignore the other side. Everyone has a ball with Palin, but good old Joe just keeps playing the role of Obama's crazy uncle without getting his proper due. That strikes me as funny, considering he IS the Vice-President and Palin is (or at least should be) old news. Why does the image of Billy Carter come to mind?

More crazy Joe posts, less Palin posts. Just think it's a little more relevant.

SNL actually has a pretty good Biden character they rolled out last season. Jason Sudeikis does it I believe. Here's a couple you might enjoy:

I think if the show was in-season, you'd see some good mockery of the administration right now. Hell, even John Stewart has a segment on Obama called "That's F'ng great, now shut up and fix the economy all ready."

I'm not saying the media balanced itself, but this stuff is out there. It just doesn't reach the target audience the way that email forwards, random blogspot sites and college girls posing sexily on golf carts seems to.
