Others high on my list are the Texas Hill country...especially the drive up 281..

Of course it's difficult to compete against the various majestic mountain range regions around the world, including those in the U.S. northwest, but around here in Texas the Texas Hill country is generally referred to as such. Although, the more I explore the county of Palo Pinto and the area surrounding Possum Kingdom lake I'm reminded that we have a little bit of heaven right here near by.

RR 337 from Medina to Vanderpool is another stunning drive.

That's only 1/3 of it. The best segment is from Vanderpool to Leakey, and then on to Camp Wood. Then go North towards Rocksprings and come back down to Leakey on RR 336. Then back the other way on 337 back to Medina.
