Next time your out there, sneak over to the dam and open the spillway. We are drying up down here in Granbury!!

Isn't that the truth. I kept thinking about that all day yesterday. Granbury is our home lake we spend most of our free time on and have since 1972. Here's the view from my parent's front porch I took over the July 4th weekend.

What is really strange right now for Granbury is that even though the water is down it's very clear, moreso than I ever remember before? It was fairly rough yesterday at PK. More of a water tubing lake, not nearly as smooth a skiing lake like Granbury.

I love hell's gate, I have spent many a great weekend over there. In fact during a particularly brave weekend many moons ago we did some jumping off the cliffs into the water some 80 ft below. Probably one of the dumbest things I have ever done, and I am sure it is illegal and rightfully so, but it was a great time and a good memory just the same.

There is some great hiking around PK, very falt but very pretty. Also some amazing golf at the Cliffs...

Went to Boy Scout camp at PK several times...we would swim from the camp shore to hell's gate...it was a mile swim...pretty cool. I have some great memories of the place. First time I tried that mile swim I thought I was going to drown about half-way through...sure looked easier before I started. Gave me an appreciation of swimmers....anyway...got easier the next few times. BTW...made it the first time, but darn sure rowed back in a canoe!

Great picture. I have canal access to the back and lake view to the front of the house. No water halfway down my boat slip out back and the bay in front of the house has sprouted sandbars. Hopefully today helps.

So wierd, it wasn't this low during the great drought of 2006.
