Tom and Cheryl have sold Central Grill to some folks from South Korea. Cheryl told me that they weren't looking to sell....didn't even have the place up for sale....but a South Korean family kept pursuing them.....offering them a deal they couldn't turn down.

Those two will be a tough act to follow. One of the new owners doesn't even speak English. And they plan on having a South Korean student (goes to NT) run the place....since she does know English.

Apparently....the new owners didn't ask any questions about how to fix the menu items......so we'll see how that works out.

Anyway.....T and C ran a great place. GREAT FOOD. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.....plus a love for UNT Athletics.

We'll see if these new folks can match it.....in any of the three areas.

BTW.....I asked if I could purchase the signed Mean Joe Green jersey.....but apparently that was part of the deal.

We'll see how it works out........but I'll personally really miss Tom and Cheryl.

Food will stay the same. Service will be be confused and very different from anything you're used to. Allegiance to UNT sports will be in existing decorations, but that's about it.

Well, I guess the former owners got one huge payoff for all of their work. Great for them. Hopefully the new ownership will handle it as well once they grab more English-speaking employees.

Perhaps they could add a discount on "Mean Green Kimchi" after victories? I'd be down for that!

Wow, big news. I, too, will miss Tom and Cheryl. They were great, but I cannot blame them if they got a great deal. maybe they will open a new place. SUMG...did you ask them? Anyway, absolutely DO NOT boycott the place. Welcome the new owners, try them out (I certainly will) and tell them you are eating there BECAUSE they support the Mean Green and you hope the new ownership will continue that trend.

FFR is 100% correct in saying that the service made the place. While the food was very good, indeed, and reasonably priced...Tom and Chery made the place. Let's hope it doesn't turn into "just another burger joint".

GO MEAN GREEN!

I'm just trying to impress a few of you with my new world view.
