Tom Watson.

59 years old.

Hip replacement surgery 9 months ago.

Widely accreted as one of the, greatest links/bad weather players of all time.

Defeated Jack by one stroke in one of the greatest Open duels of all time 32 years ago at Turnberry(site of this year's Open)

5 total British Open Championships.

Leading by 3 through 2.5 days of competition.

Please don't go Greg Norman on me....

Who needs Tiger?

Pretty cool to read about, I hope he takes it.

Tiger rocks, but it would be exceptionally cool to see Watson win out.

Not a problem Tiger didn't make the cut.

ABC (or whoever is broadcasting the British Open) are breathing a HUGE sigh of relief after Tiger didn't make the cut. Imagine the ratings if Watson hadn't ridden in to save the day.

It seems like the British, more than the other majors, always has a story of intrest other than Tiger. Last year was The Shark, year before that Padraig denying Sergio his first major and so on. I think it's the allure of watching the greatest players in the world struggle to play a links course.

No tears for Tom Watson, He had a spectacular weekend, even though he did not take it home he played amazingly well and deserved much props, especially for a 59 year old guy with a fake hip

And Cink deserves some credit as well.
