I was trying to remember some of the holes at UNT, I learned to play there and I recently started playing again.

I drove the first hole at least twice, but never got better then a par. Looking at a putt for eagle twice and walked away with a par I am still embarrassed.

Anyway I was wondering how long that hole was plus some of the others.

I too miss that course...really could build up the confidence.

Click under the diagram for a poor man's layout of each hole.

Thanks, you helped clear some things up for me. I had some great memories there. I always enjoyed that course with the elevation changes, I think it could have been a great course if they had spent the time on it.

Great might be pushing it...they really couldn't expand the holes that needed lengthening and 6500 from the tips needs to be lengthened...but I think Don January did a nice job with what he had.

That said, I always walked it and 18 was a beast after 4 plus hours in the heat.

Yeah I usually walked as well, I think the beer hole was the best. Sometimes they would start you on 10 and walking up the 9th was a bear at the end of the day as well. I loved the usually hot beer girls as well. I also liked coming up 9 and looking out at Fouts, I always wanted to blast one across the highway and see where I would land.

They had room in the middle-south past the driving range, west, and south side of the course to get in 500-600 more yards but it would have been a major redesign. The holes to north east would need the most work.

Well, I am glad to see we have some golfers on the site. Let me be the first to tell you of The SCHOLARSHIP SCRAMBLE sponsored by the Denton Chapter of the UNT Alumni Association. The event will be held at Bear Creek (near DFW airport for ease of access to all DFW players) on Monday, OCT. 12th (Columbus day...and the Monday before homecoming!). The unique thing about this tournament is that you will be able to PLAY FREE by raising funds for UNT Scholarships. You can also pay to play. There will be opportunities for tournament sponsors, hole sponsors (no jokes please!), range sponsors and cart sponsors. Set up your own team of four or sign up by yourself. It will be a scramble, so all levels of expertise can have great fun.

MORE INFO TO FOLLOW...but, "SAVE THE DATE"....and think about your company as a possible sponsor at some level...and think about signing up to play. It should be a great day to be on the course with other fans of the MEAN GREEN...and MEAN GREEN NATION MEMBERS!!!!

Anyone interested????

And, yes, I am the designated "Tournament Director" (YIKES!!! MORE WORK), so if you have questions you can PM me or just ask here as others may have the same question.

GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!

I loved that course. Growing up, my home course was Bridgeport CC (a dried up little 9 hole joke) and getting to play in Denton was always a real treat. I'll still take a couple irons out there and randomly play the remaining holes every once in a while.
