Another off season thread.

Saw this the other night , it was classic.

Need to see how it plays out on bluray with a six pack in the belly.. That is when the rating goes down.

Totally overrated. Tried way too hard to be funny. Poorly cast.

The two things that were worth a chuckle: Fat Jesus and the pics at the end that tie it all together.

2nd or 3rd tier. Better than most of the recent comedies. I enjoyed Andy from The Office playing himself.

It was good because it was surprising and not given away by the trailers. I don't think it has staying power of a classic, but time will tell.

This year though I think it is the second best movie so far for me, a distant second to Star Trek.

Funny - but I think it also benefits from perfect timing - something trying to be funny without completely insulting our intelligence hadn't come out in awhile and it had the comedy crowd all to itself when it only had to beat out Year One and Land of the Lost toget people who want a nice, dumb, amusing summer movie.

I was a victim of over-sell. Half the crowd was seeing it their second (or more time) and I was just a part of their experience. How do I know? They were talking along with the movie *AND* repeating the jokes. It wasn't a good viewing experience... That is why I will wait to rent it or it be on HBO to make my final judgment.

The second viewing bump is the key. I remember last summer chuckling at Tropic Thunder, but after watching it again, it really was genius. Forgetting Sarah Marshall did the exact same for me too.
