I really believe that if the election were held TODAY, that Franken would be SOUNDLY defeated. I would imagine that many of the folks who voted for the guy are wondering why they did today with what has been going on in Washington with the crowd whose coattails this guy slid in on.

In a way...it will be good for them to "get what they asked for" with Franken. The guy couldn't even support a radio program with his "talk"...

Yeah! Because if you can't host a radio show for more than 4 years, you sure as hell can't represent your constituency.

I listened every day. As soon as he left I quit listening to Air America. On rare occasion I tune in on the 'net. I loved Franken's show. I also believe he will be a fine Senator. It's a shame his opponent had to be such a poor loser and drag this out so long.

--But could you imagine a talk program with Bush as host. ??? It would be funny without intending to be.

I will admit that the way he left the economy is not funny though.

EagleD....I am afraid it was Franken who kept appealing and recounting the ballots until he won. His campaign mgr was the same guy who replicated the same vote counting scam two or three other times for Democratic candidates. Franken will be one term because, essentially, he is an idiot. Sorry, it was the same state that elected Jessie Ventura as governor. Maybe it is in the water from the state of 10,000 taxes.....as the people up there like to refer to their state.

Don't be afraid EE...Franken or his team did not recount any ballots. The MN board of elections did one recount which was required by MN law because of how close the original election results were. During the recount, it looks like both sides appealed to the courts to have some ballots included/excluded.

An old article from CNN, but it goes into a bit of detail about the ongoing recount at that time

As far as your brilliant determination that Franken will serve one term because he's an idiot...the man graduated from Harvard cum laude with a BA in political science (and for the record, I don't think that Bush (Yale grad) was an idiot either, unlike other lefts on this board may think...I just strongly disagree with the decisions he made). That "argument" doesn't hold water in my book.

Which is exactly what you said about Gore in the 2000 election, right?

Don't you mean Liberal East Coast Indoctrination Academy?
