Would you drop your son off at Jackson's house for an overnight stay? I bet not. And you of all people should know juries get it right in these type of cases about 60% of the time.

Funny how some of the same people on here that will rail about OJ are so quick to just give Jackson a free pass. Gee, could it be because OJ's career was over and he wasn't giving us anymore entertainment value, so it's so much easier to accuse him than it is Jackson, who was still producing music when these allegations came out?

Human nature is a funny thing.

No, OJ is still innocent in my book too. For me it comes down to this: either I believe in the American criminal justice system, of which I am a part, or I don't. Either I believe it works, even with its flaws that cut BOTH ways, or I don't. I for one am not so arrogant as to think that I am uniquely qualified to pick out the miscarriages of justice amongst the multitudes of "righteous" trials.

Not demanding he burn/rot in hell the day he dies (ala Saddam Hussein) is a free pass? I only like a handful of Michael songs and, like most folks until yesterday, have seen him as a joke punchline for 20 years. It's one thing to say "meh" or issue a joke, but the rot in hell demand just amazes me.

Innocence or guilt is determined only from a "legal" standpoint during a trial. Actual innocence or guilt can be another matter all together. As we have seen, innocent folks get convicted and guilty ones get acquited. Get a great lawyer or two or three and you are on your way...at least you have a shot...

As does Emmitt, I believe in the American justice system, but the justice system is not the ultimate determiner of what is really right and wrong or who is really guilty or not.

That may be a bit esoteric (is that a good choice of words here?), and I understand that, but it is what it is...OJ, MJ...both acquitted, legal system says they are innocent...I can live with that...who knows what the real story is with both of them. Trial over...get on with it.

Fact..OJ was a great football player, and MJ was the King of Pop...guilty or innocent of the crimes they were accused of committing? Law says innocent....

That request seems to be popping up an awful lot of late...

I don't know if Jackson was guilty or not. Regardless, I thought he was pretty creepy. But I also got the sense that the DA in the case was out to get the guy. And a friend of mine who's a federal prosecutor said at the time that the case was pretty flimsy and probably shouldn't have been brought to trial. So who knows?

Actually, it was burn in hell. And it wasn't a demand, more of an observation of the consequences of his behavior. I guess I could have just coombyaed with all the other "what a great musician" posts and ignored Jackson's well documented accusations of pedophilia, but that just doesn't seem very honest.

By the way, Jackson was in debt spending mode by the time the second victim made the allegation, so there was no huge financial prize to be won.

Again, it's easy to say that you believe 100% in every verdict arrived at by a jury when it has no immediate affect on your family.

There were 2 posts when you made your "burn in hell" remark. One was about bad things happening in threes and the other was me anticipating Thriller 2, so you weren't exactly the voice of reason in a love fest. I don't know what coombyaed means, but I hope everyone who participated washed their hands and faces when it was over.

I was hoping we'd have a nice mix of jokes and music videos to pretty much pay tribute to how he was viewed, but the burn in hell comment pretty much made my day. Besides, I hear Jesus thinks its awesome when folks take care of eternal judgment for him, because it frees up more time for him to work on his live album.

"Stairway to Heaven"...a live tribute to Zeplin? I hope the concert is released in Blu-Ray.

I believe the law says "Not Guilty" those 2 were far from innocent.

Nice comment about 12 year old children. Their parents were far from innocent, but the kids really had no choice in the matter.

Dude, you are a comedy gold mine. Unless the kids parents were O.J. and Michael, which, besides being confusing, would make you a master of inside info.

Giving a grown man of no relation access to your kid for sleep overs, especially one with as many issues as Jackson, is very bad parenting (for the 1st kid). Giving a person previously accused of pedophilian behavior access to your kid is extremely bad parenting.

Again, would you have ever let your kid spend the night alone with Jackson?

It's not the kids fault they had bad parenting and it doesn't condone what happened.

Don't just shout your argument louder after you said something stupid because you can't read. Do you even know who you are talking to anymore?

Well, I see I can't multi-task near as well as i used to. UNTBill, my apologies. Didn't mean to shout down someone in agreement.

Quoner, thanks for tackfully pointing out my error.

Genius pun or part of the ongoing hot streak? If this was NBA Jam, you'd be shoving me down on every inbound pass, stealing the ball and hitting about 20 straight three-pointers.

Noone knows what happened. Did he molest boys? Maybe, maybe not. He was found innocent, and there has not been any evidence made public to the masses that say otherwise. All we know is that a few boys said he molested them. Hersay is not evidence, if it were, we all would be in prison. The criminal justice system says all members of a jury must say guilty. Civil trials dictate that a simple majority must say guilty, that is why all those families won the lawsuits.

It is obvious that he had some serious issues. He definitely had the social mental capacity of a child. That is very saddening.

Regardless, you can't overlook the influence he had on music, dance, and entertainment.

Just heard a tennis player on ESPN eulogize Jackson with the following statement:

"He touched many people"

Somewhere, a ESPN editor is snickering with his buddies.

Micheal Jackson was creepy to me since the early 80s, the guy leaves this earth 400 million in debt. He could not control his spending, can't feel too sorry for him. I never enjoyed anything he did past the Jackson 5.
