Well, he's partially correct. Sure we practice protectionism while preaching free trade, but so does everyone else in the world. Free trade is the ideal for which we strive, but true free trade requires transparency, complete access to perfect information. It is something that can never be achieved, but that doesn't mean we abandon it.
