1. this should be the time that the U.S. Supreme Court jumps in.

2. sort of a circumous route to finally get at the Bush attorneys, again.

3. just this last week, B. Hussain Obama, wants terrorist combatants to be given "Miranda Rights." SaY WhAt YoU sAy? let me get this straight.....our guys are in a pitch battle of kill or be killed........ok, you capture a guy with a towel around his head, dressed in a madrass dress, smells like he just copulated with a camel and hasn't shaved in a while......."you have the right to remain silent..ect ect ect.......do you understand your rights?" so are we goin' to have to set up some sort of U.S. court system overseas and how about the right to a free (tax payer supported )attorney. how would you like to have that job?

Newt Gingrich called this worse than anything Carter ever did. But wait, it started under ...wait for it...George W. Bush!

From Olbermann:

After a report that President Obama quietly ordered FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high-value detainees captured or held at US detention facilities in Afghanistan, Gingrich promptly called this unimaginable. “It‘s worst than anything Jimmy Carter ever did. It‘s worst than anything President Bill Clinton did.”

Three hours earlier, Fox News had reported that this policy of reading some detainees Miranda rights had begun in July 2008, under President Bush. So, first, Newt Gingrich called Ronald Reagan, and said he was guilty of intellectual nonsense. Now, he says something he did was worse than anything—something Bush did was worse than something Jimmy Carter ever did, worse than anything Bill Clinton ever did. Gee, Newt, Reagan and Bush in one week. I wouldn‘t even go there.

And Obama and crew are just opening the flood gates, Obama has no idea what he is getting into.

So now the whole detainee system has been contradictory for like a year and change. Awesome. Don't treat them like POWs, but then treat them like regular civil prisoners.

Pick one, please. Padilla essentially gave up his citizenship when he decided to work for Al Qaeda.

By the way, nice Miranda Rights policy, Bush. Ugh.

From Olbermann:

The only way miranda would apply is if the FBI were interviewing a US Citizen about a crime committed inside the US. That is most likely what Bush ordered, hence the "certain detainees" in that quote. It would make no legal sense to expand this to non-US citizens committing crimes outside the US and being detained in a foreign country/

Didn't even read the 9th Circuit's BS. They have embarrassed themselves for years as the most overturned circuit court in history.

Rousseau, the well known philosopher, would make a similar argument about forfeiting your rights.

Going far beyond the necessary language to make your point about it being silly to Mirandize terrorists you went on to generalize about middle eastern brown people. For your efforts in hyperbole and jingoism you win by a landslide."

OH there are going to be ways around this. Trust me.

oh excuse me.......what do they look like???......i thought that was a pretty accurate description. not racist just fact. facts are one thing that liberal socialist's hate the most & is usually "countered" by some trite comment about the person making the comment being racist, homophobic, christian, conservative extremist. That comes straight out of Marx and Alinski.......and emmitt.

Ok. This just got interesting. Facts, as you've defined them before, are indisputable pieces of data typically acquired through empirical means. Given that definition, please explain how you arrived at this particular fact you listed:

"smells like he just copulated with a camel"

I'm hoping for 'deep' ethnography.

I can't imagine that smells too good. :o

Terrorists may be uneducated, but their senior leadership is not stupid.

It's fine to look like "Abu the raghead" if everyone looks the same way in Iraq. But that'll get you stopped by the authorities real fast around here.

If I want to mask myself away and make it easier for me to hit high value targets, I'm going to look like you and your next door neighbor or I'm gonna recruit easily manipulated people that look just like you or your neighbor. My plan is going raise a lot less suspicion if I have a bomb in the briefcase of a clean-shaven man than if I have it delivered by a guy that looks like Osama Bin Laden.

Who are you gonna eyeball at the next Cowboys game? The guy in the Romo jersey who had a recent haircut or the guy in tribal dress with a shemagh around his head?

Actually, I just reread his first post. I think he was referring to the terrorists over there if we are in a heated battle and capture them.

You're late to the party. He pulled that off by linking directly to white supremacist message boards among other fun racist facts. Now, this. Yet, it seems to be fully sanctioned, while others get banished for months for making obviously outlandish jokes. Go figure.

These guys didn't have towels, or beards, not wearing madrass, and probably didn't smell like camel crap.

You're free to go...

I think the quote in my signature pretty much sums up the state of the world. Let the man preach!

Also, congrats on posting the first "ad hominum" attack this section of the board has seen in weeks.

Okay. So, if I'm intellectually bankrupt and have reached a new low, then please simply answer me, answer all of us, these questions:

1) Do you stand by "ok, you capture a guy with a towel around his head, dressed in a madrass dress, smells like he just copulated with a camel and hasn't shaved in a while....." as what you described as a "pretty accurate description" of a suspected terrorist, despite Flyer's response to you above and common sense? Also, do you not feel this is a racist statement?

2) Do you feel that posting links to white supremacist/hate site message boards on GMG.com is an acceptable practice? Do you feel that those groups are racist groups? Do you feel that any race is in any way biologically superior to another?

You haven't answered my question yet (might have been lost in all the posts). How do you know what a camel smells like post-copulation? This is a fact I am not aware of. I've never been around a camel, so I wouldn't know what it smells like before and after a date. Not that I'd need this info in the immediate future(?), but it is a fact that has piqued my curiosity. Please answer the question.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about an 18 year old camel, so I think everything is OK.

That's a good point. I wouldn't want to be accused of making too much out of the situation. So long as it was a consenting camel, it's no one else's business what goes on privately. B)
