We will be having a mixer on July 9th at 6:30pm at the Pourhouse in Denton.

Guest Speaker: Rick Villarreal (others may also attend).

We will also be selling t-shirts promoting the UNT-Army football game.

I'll be there...good way to "jump start" the 2009 football season...man, I am ready for some football...and enjoy a cold beverage or two with other members of the MEAN GREEN NATION...and, of course enjoy the company of fellow GMG.Com posters.

And, to answer a previous question...yes, I believe the Alumni Assoc. will ahve the info on its web-site.

Point of information....this is hosted by the Denton Chapter of the Alumni Association. My thanks to the Denton folks for doing this.

drex, you are so right...this is an event sponsored by the Denton Chapter of the UNT Alumni Association, but all alums and friends of UNT and the Mean Green are more than welcome...and encouraged...to attend. Even those alums who have moved to far off Garland. I trust you and your lovely bride, perhaps, will be in attendance?

And, you can thank our one and only "drex" for the great design work. Come to the Mixer on July 9th and you can be one of the first to own this "soon to be" classis "TANK ARMY" T-Shirt!!!! Proceeds go to the Denton Chapter's UNT Scholarship fund. So, when you buy a Tank Army shirt you are not only getting a "classic" UNT T-shirt but helping students attend UNT. Think about that...nice deal, huh?

Derrick, if you'd like to merge the event with the official Alumni Association event on Facebook, feel free to send everyone you have over to http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=111310135627

We're able to get the word out to all 2,350 members of the Alumni Association group on Facebook, as well as promote it through the Facebook fan page and Twitter. We've already invited the whole group, but it's taking a while for that information to show up in the "Awaiting Reply" section of the event. It will soon, though.
