Why Support this Program?….Seriously!?
I don’t know why we are nitpicking the legacy of the only coach in 50 years that has put multiple team trophies in our trophy case. If you omit coaches who earned Hall of Fame status after leaving here you are left with Odus Mitchell and Dickey as the only coaches to ever “dominate” any conference for any length of time. Now looking back through history I am even more frustrated that in 2004 it appears we never tried to get Jerry Moore to come back to UNT. But come to think of it, maybe it is karma. A program that raves about Hayden Fry every opportunity rarely honor Odus Mitchell properly. A 20 year tenure with 10 conference titles. We should be playing on Odus Mitchell Field inside (DATCU, Apogee, or whatever corporation that wants cough up naming rights money) stadium. -
