This is an interesting read from Pravda. Seems our Russian "friends" see what's happening to America in an "interesting" light. Take a look at the article. Just interesting reading...reminds me of some of the articles in our papers when the "fall of communism" was being reported....you have to wonder.

Pravda: American capitalism gone with a whimper

American capitalism gone with a whimper

27.04.2009 Source:Pravda.Ru URL: http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnist...an_capitalism-0

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "freeman" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

Makes my blood boil and at the same time sends chills down my spine. I'm struggling with how to react to the attack on our nation from within, can we last 4 years until we get a chance to stem the tide or will 4 years be too late to stop the rolling stone from crushing everything this nation was built upon. Will my government representatives take off their blinders and stand up for that percentage of Americans that are not interested in this path. Obama was elected by the majority of voters but does not represent enough of a majority of citizens to be doing all this! Wake up folks and at least voice your concerns to everyone that will listen, especially those that represent us at the highest levels.

---- Option II was: Close the company since it can't pay saleries or pay for materials and then put thousands out of work.. which includes all local dealers and their employees etc. plus consider all warranties etc as voided. Once that happened those people could pay their bills or house payments and the economy even sinks worse as many that depend on their spending fail as well. Would that have been the true capitalist answer... Grow up. This is an awful solution but you got a better one.??? It wasn't like the government really wanted to do what it did.

---You also might be honest about it all and realize this administration did not cause the mess that we are in. It existed well before the last election... that partly explains the result. What you want to true .... just isn't the truth.

---The last administration politcy was tax less, spend more, double the debt, and screw up the economy.... and claim that they are conservative...!!

So when can we blame crushing debt on the current administration?

Gov shouldn't have done a thing, GM would still have filed, Same results and the prez shouldn't be dictating the hiring and firing of employees at a corporation, PERIOD. THat is the TRUTH! Never said the current admin caused the thing as I don't see it that way, problems started long ago and those in charge are not solving the situation and haven't been for some time. Let the free market dictate, if we end up with, and it kills be to say this, toyota and honda as the big dogs then so be it. They are at least providing jobs in this country now instead of how it was in the '70s....THat is the TRUTH! Don't sit there and say that the GOV didn't want to do this, it played right into our current leader hands and he jumped all over it without thinking, just like everything else that is taking place. If they didn't want to do it then why did they, I haven't seen anyone profess that this is the way it should have gone down except for the chosen one and his minions. There are way to many folks on capitol hill that are responsible and to many pinheads like you drinking the kool-aid. Just cause you didn't agree with the last admin, don't throw the baby out with the bath water. This is not what this country is about and not so deep down you know it but just won't admit it. THat is the TRUTH....But thanks for playing anyway.

So, quadrupling the budget deficit in the answer? Obama is easily going to have a bigger budget overrun in 4 years what took Bush 8 years to accomplish. That's not exactly something I would go running around boasting about.

Consumer debt spending has ruined our economy and government debt spending is going to ruin our country.

Lets say the government doesn't step in...GM files for bankruptcy and starts to re-structure...they still need money. Where is that money going to come from? Banks? What bank has the capital or stability or risk-leverage to take on GM?

The government didn't want to do this...you told me not to say it, but I did and I believe it. Had GM filed 5, 10 or 15 years ago, when banks were stable, some private financial institution would've taken them on and GM would've gone through the same bankruptcy channels that thousands of companies before them have and they'd be back to making awful cars and turning a profit.

Do not believe for a minute that the government is going to reprivitize what they have already grabbed with the banks and automakers.

The Obamaites are regurgitating what Nixon said about Amtrack:

http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=4031

The government already subsidizes transportation, now controls the banks and the auto industry. Question.....what can the government run more efficiently than the private sector??? hummmm.....nothing. That is why we have a private sector, sort of.....in a way it is vanishing.

The Obamaites have "borrowed more" than, probably, all other admins in the last 30 years. Sec. of the Tres., Gaither (sp) was laughed at by Chinese university students, a couple of days ago, when he bragged that the U.S. Dollar is stable.

Folk can blame certain parts of the economy on Bush but 100% of the Porkulus and Government takeover of banks .... auto industry ..... now we are talking TRILLIONS.....not ...... BILLIONS......and nobody seems to care how we are going to pay it back. How do we do it? Hyperinflate our monitary system? or just tax the living daylights out of us? Both options are detrimental to our pocketbooks.

The article is 100% right on.

1. Religion has been under attack......just read the paper. Once taught in schools is no longer....may tramatize someone.....law suits etc..

2. Schools have been dumbing down since the late 60's and early 70's. Got to dumb down the brightest so the dumbest can catch up or look better. Now the schools are afraid to flunk the dumbest...just pass 'em. What a travesty. What ever happened to when you flunked you got held back? got held back enough then you just started to work sooner.

3. What moral behaviors that were once "black and white" are now called "moral relativism".....you know, if it feels good do it....without consequence.

I gotta disagree about religion and education. Religion should stay out of schools, or at least presented in a very matter-of-fact format, and equal airtime given to the major religions. You know, separation of church/state, in a country where one of its strengths happens to be its diversity of cultures, nations, and ethnic groups?

I do agree with schools and education levels, though. Part of it is the pay of public school educators, and part of it, especially in Texas, is teaching-to-tests. Ugh. The other part is mom and dad not doing their job at home.

to many pinheads like you drinking the kool-aid. .

Good argument, calling people, "pinheads".

---- Option II was: Close the company since it can't pay saleries or pay for materials and then put thousands out of work.. which includes all local dealers and their employees etc. plus consider all warranties etc as voided. I don't think anyone would want to buy up GM aside from the government. Chrysler tried to find someone else to purchase them back in...2007 and they had a very difficult time doing so, taking at least 8 months to do it. And that was in 2007 in a far more easy marketplace than we have now. Something as large as GM would have to be parted out into individual divisions in order for any of it to be purchased. That's breaking off into the Saturn line, GMC, Chevrolet, Pontiac, etc.

So if GM went entirely belly up:

The local dealerships would end up trying to sell off their stock back to GM, or attempt to sell vehicles without a warranty or at least some sort of interim one. The employees, if let go, would have to find new jobs, and that's gotta be in the 10,000's of unemployed. The autoworkers would have to renegotiate to get picked up with other automakers (which they should do anyways). Then you have to look at the warranties of all of the vehicles that are still under warranty - who buys those up so they can still be honored, and if that happens, who's going to handle the logistics chain to run that?

I think what all of this is isn't the government killing off capitalism. I think it's the result of capitalism killing itself, or at least going to the hospital for being obese. Had GM and its American cousins handled themselves better over the last 20 years, none of them would be staring bankruptcy in the face.

---Turn it around some... never before extreme religious groups tried so hard to gain control of schools and government. I have benn in education more than 40 years... When did schools teach religion..?? none I ever taught in during those 40 years did. morality yes... not religion. Ever since cable TV appeared with 24 hour religious channels ( early/mid 80's), and I don't mean your typical home town churches, have the extremist (Religion-wise) have tried to gain power in politics and schools. Pat Robinson even tried to get elected President and entered several primaries. . The only political discussion involving religion I can remember growing up was that John Kennedy was Catholic and some were very concerned that he would answer to tthe Pope and would be influenced too much by his religious beliefs.

----Government has been taking over banks since FDIC existed,.. a long time.....especially during the 80's and even in my hometown... eventually they were sold to other banks. They will get out of GM...eventually.... not as easy sell as is the banks... perhaps slowly by selling stock in their share of the business.

---With Bush we were talking TRILLIONS in extra debt... not billions as you said.... It may get worse it may not.. of course conservative Bush promised a balanced budget and did the exact opposite and screwed it all up. And don't be surprized if things don't get worse before they get better. Things are in a huge mess.

---Schools ..I agree you it, after working in both public school and college, it is dumbed down in public school.... #1 improvement for education in Texas ...get rid of those useless state tests... The original statewide TABS test ( BS = basic skills, about 1980) made sense... not all these newer ones. Let teachers actually teach and not worry about getting fired because the student can't answer those crazy questions. SAT scores in Texas were better before those state tests existed. #2 fail those who do not pass but you have to come up with what to do with those that fail..... I don't want a 15 yr-old in a class of 12 yr-olds. ..and damn sure don't want them walking the streets and breaking into my house (they can't find jobs at age 15-16) . #3 Realize that not every student in Texas is going or needs to go to college. Provide some options for those students and not more Shakespeare or medieval history. It means nothing to them. #2 and #3 will cost money which many that criticize-- don't want to pay out.

---And for it is worth... I have nothing at stake in public schools now. I don't work there and have no kids there. Stop that stupid testing... it is harmful... I get to teach those that come from public schools and they seem worse every year as the testing gets nuttier. .

One additional comment.... the best students in public school are as good and maybe better than ever before..... the average ones aren't. Of course those students in advanced classes don't have to put up with all the state test preparation... they are going to pass them anyway ... so the teachers in those can actually teach as they know they should.

I like how you equate the religious to extremists. Pure Maxist diatribe to forcefully slander and deligitimize a group you want to marginalize. We can tell how you have been propogandized by the public school system.

You point to 24 hour religious programing as if it were a jihad against some sort of church/state culture. Church and state is another topic all together & has been taken completely taken out of the original context, as you know, to destroy religious/moral teaching to everyone. The foundations of morality come from the Bible and not from the leftist's moral relativism where everything goes without consequence. Pat Robinson an extremist? What has he said that was not Biblical? Perhaps it is you, SE, that is moving much further to the left because Biblical principles have not changed since inception. SE, perhaps you can start moving more to the right so you can see how far left you have traveled.

No matter what Bush borrowed the Obamaites have borrowed more than all the other administrations put together....and that is from George Washington.

So you think that the government is going to clean up the banks and auto industry and just give it back to privitization??? hahahahaha. I am still waiting for them to give back Amtrack (see my attached link) to the private sector....

****how many subsidized programs does the govt. run??

****how many more projects are the obamaites going to take over before year's end??

I love how anytime anyone disagrees with you, you toss out Marx or Hitler.

Also...your morality is based on the Bible...yours and somewhere around 1.5 billion of the World's population. Wanna tell me what the the whole of that population stands at now?

The Bible is not the universal precept for morality.

I never said Hitler.....besides, you should re-read Marx, Lenin and Alinski, sometime. This is their philosophy & is used by some posters on this board. Heck, I don't mind pointing that out. You do want people to be informed?
