But just think, when Coach lama came here we were really lousy and had been for a few years. His first season we hardly had anyone on scholarship playing and won one match(which was like the LAST match of the season before the copnfernce tourney). He's really done an amazing job.

That is true. We sucked in Tennis for years. Even back to when I was their in the early 90s.

Yes I don't remember them being very good when I was there but some of the girls (especially one from Houston) were good to look at!

It is nice to move up the rankings. If you really look at the rankings, the shine comes off a bit though. 8 out of 15 teams. No national ranking (and I believe that includes 75 teams). No nationally ranked player in singles or doubles. Only one player ranked regionally and one doubles team.

I am very proud of Coach Lama and these girls, but still a ways to go.

Well if you look at the teams ahead they are the cream of the crop. The early season beatdown by Tx Tech on our sick girls did not help.

There is a ways to go but moving fast, Denver back in 2001 was nothing and then they took off.

I would imagine by the end of next year the ladies will be Top 75 in the Nation. They were neck and neck with Denver this year, who were #30.
