Is Troy Phillips still with the Startlegram?

I haven't read anything from him in the paper or on the blog in months now. We had no coverage by them of our spring game. Or our stadium updates.

Anyone know? There have so many staff cuts at these papers.....it wouldn't shock me if they dropped their NT beat reporter.

John, he is not listed in their current list of sports columnists.. http://www.star-telegram.com/sports_columnists/

He did a blog report March 9 for the meangreensports liveblog from the SBC basketball tourney and was listed as a star-telegram reporter then, but nothing since that I can find more current. No UNT reports in the star-telegram in a very long time; only TCU, UTA, and general college sports articles as far back as their archive goes. Looks like UNT football and sports has been cut in FTW.

Sad if he was let go. I thought he was a very informative writer for NT sports, always had many facts and tidbits to share.

Bummer. He gave UNT pretty good coverage under the Dodge regime.

Troy interviewed me several times about the stadium and the athletic fee. In print, he tried to be neutral but he was absolutely rooting for UNT on this.
