I saw this movie at the Cinemark West Plano formerly Tinseltown Plano on the XD -Extreme Digital Cinema.

****Spoiler****

Roughly the first half of this movie was crazy good, maybe it was the XD -Extreme Digital picture and sound system. When the A-10 flew by low on a scraping run and the thump shakes me in my seat it felt like I was at an airshow. Wow.

But from there the movie to me went horribly south, when the actual story line really started to unfold. I think most any decent high school writers could have written a better story. Forced trust and quickly thrown together relationships evolve magically. Why would the A10 pilot force an escape? Couldn't they have written a better trust scenario? Whether the A-10 pilot pleaded his case or accident/attack gave the cyborg an opportunity to prove himself. I am sure there are infinite ways to solve this. Why would Connor Suddenly just trust the cyborg? Why did they not spend some time on the script? Why would the Cyborg be magnetic? Most metals are not magnetic and almost any good metal alloy certainly is not. I am saddened by this kind of crap, would it really be that expensive to write something made a little more sense? It seems that it would take about five more minutes of movie time to fix this, and I think it would double the gross take of this movie. Plus the whole hokey heart transplant was the gayest thing possible, the cyborg character I liked and I would have kept him around for the next squeal when John Connor sent Reese Connor back to the past.

I rated this Terminator distant 3rd out of the series after the 1st and 2nd Terminator and just ahead of the 3rd movie in the series, I am sorely disappointed in the crap they called a story in the end.

Unfortunately I am sure they will be laughing all the way to the bank.

The action was great and I agree the first half or so was excellent, the story was pretty bad from there. Oh well it is just silly Hollywood doing as little as possible to make a boat load of cash, damned if they are going to spend time researching or developing a story when all they have to have is good marketing trailers and special effects.

well, maybe they should have been a bit more concerned about story, because it looks like the thing won't even come close to making its production budget back (after getting mowed down by freaking Night at the Museum 2 on its opening weekend, no less).

When the "Terminator" in the second film (due to Ahnold's insistence that his character be nicer in the film) did not actually kill, but wounded--due to a what a 10 year old boy TOLD him...GREAT plot device there--I lost interest in the series. The second film should have been called the "Subservient Maimer".

The following films suck.

Is that really true about Arnold?

I still don't get how they spend that much money on a movie and can't spend any time or money on a story line.

Yes. He was trying to do stuff like Kindergarten Cop, etc., and toning down the Terminators relentless killing was one of the stipulations for him agreeing to do the sequel.

Kyle Reese (from original film): "You still don't get it, do you? He'll find her! That's what he does! It's *all* he does! You can't stop him! He'll wait for you! He'll reach down her throat and tear her *&^$&in' heart out! **Unless your preteen son tells him to make a promise that he won't kill any more. Then he won't--even though he was sent back to protect the kid by all means necessary. He's a TERMINATOR, for stick's sake.**

Shark-jumping moment. Ridiculous. :P
