When will the Republicans learn that they are an OPPOSITION party. While I expected this type of nomination and think Pres. Obama has the right to make it, I also think the Republican party has a duty to harshly critize, vehementely oppose, and attempt to discredit this nominee. Jeez, please take a page from the Dem's playbook here. So much to work with (the racial comment, the vote on the Firemen promotions), stop looking down and shuffling you feet and be an OPPOSITION PARTY. I refer to the below.

I don't think that articale was saying they weren't gonna oppose her. The GOP is just trying to figure out how to oppose her is all. Folks saying she might as well be on the KKK won't help the Republican party. She was rated to the left of center in one law review I read no doubt, but Obama coulda go way more to the left(many Democrats I've read are actually a bit irritated with the "safeness" of the choice). I think if the GOP leadership raises too much white noise over this pick, the country will mostly tune them out when Obama goes hard left in his next selection(which will probably be within a year or two given Stevens age and Ginsburg's health problems).
