I still find it unbelievable that so few people understand that Iraq could have had WMD's but did something with them prior to the war. Saddam knew he was going to go to war. Why is it sooooo impossible to consider he hid them. We found tunnels underground big enough to drive a semi through. The WMD's could have very easily been driven underground to a neighboring country, maybe Syria. Once the last truck had left, blow the tunnel that let to the border, thus creating a dead end. This way when we did invade, it would make us look bad.

To this day, that is exactly what I think happened to Saddam's WMDs.

Back to the Gitmo issue for a second. Obama and the left seems to be fixated on the southeastern corner of Cuba. Can someone summarize the basic problem Obama has with Gitmo? Thanks.

Other than symbolism, I don't know. It's not like the military base is going anywhere if they shut down the prison.

Seems to me the only "mess" Obama says he's being forced to clean up is the one he created.

And, there will be plenty more of his "messes" that he will have to clean up...the guy is a walking "mess machine"!:lol: Easy to talk, but a bit harder to actually back up your pretty speeches with credible action. I think we should send the guys in Gitmo to live with the dems who voted to fund Obama's non-plan...or maybe Tina faye could take a few in and write her next comedy script around her "gentle houseguests"...plenty of space in some of those hollywood mansions...hhay, Sean Penn...got and extra room or two??? :o:lol:

Is anyone here willing to bet their life that this is NOT a possibility?

---Saddam was hoping that Iran thought he had them... he was fangless after the Gulf War when we had destroyed his tanks and air force, plus he had no way to resupply himself..... most of his weapons had come from the USA in Reagan era when fighting Iran and the Soviet Union which had now collapsed. He had nothing... but he feared Iran and the Islamic crazies that existed there. Saddam was a complete thug... but not an Islamic crazy which really is our problem.

---Nukes, no possibility... chemical maybe, he once had some.. but neither he or Iraq citizens had never committed a terrorist act on us or Europe. Also no Iraq person was involved in 9-11, most were citizens of Saudi Arabia...... our buddies,.

---What you want to be believe was true... just wasn't... accept it. !!

Why is that?

We knew he had 550 metric tons of "yellowcake" uranium. We knew that the UN inspectors were not allowed in. We knew he was working his nuclear project. We didn't know what else because Saddam would not let inspectors do their job.

Where do you get this crap? So surely Saddam would only do the right things with his Nuclear project. A guy that used WMDs on his own people. I feel your common sense has been compromised by your politics.

Last major stockpile from Saddam's nuclear efforts arrives in Canada

The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program — a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium — reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.

Interesting!
