Went to high school here in Denton and played high school ball with him. He had more "attitude" than talent and made the best of it. Some of you guys probably had his dad for biology at UNT. He is super guy. Congrats Big John, throw some of that Cardinal magic our way.

Not looking to replace our current hire, Brad Ausmus. But down the road, we might want to keep this in mind:

Lott doesn’t plan on quitting any time soon, but plans to retire in the Denton area. He has bought land for a home and has plans for a second career.

  Should we add Texas State to the AAC?
  
  Texas State does not make sense with UTSA being so close. If they are looking to just add a school it would probably be JMU, WKU, or Liberty. That said, I still feel that not everyone in the AAC is happy to be here, and I think there could be some movement.

  164 currently in the NET rankings. Not just no, but hell no. Any additions the AAC does from this point forward need to at least accomplish one of three things: hugely successful in football, hugely successful in basketball, or a massive brand (eg. Air Force). Texas State doesn't check any of those three boxes.
