I am seriously considering throwing my hat into the ring for city council in 2 years if the city does not do more to strengthen the relationship with the university. The convention center project shows promise of a brighter future for Denton, but we need to do more.

We need better streets around the campus, more sidewalks and bike paths, and the council MUST lift its zoning restriction on the vacant lot on Fry Street. I'd also like to see the Fry Street Fair return.

Aim higher... The Governor's mansion could use an infusion of fresh air and common sense too. First things first though, fix Denton now.

if im still living in denton in 2 years....you got my vote.

How do students get their address? Is it a PO Box on campus? If so, you are probably not registered in my district even though Victory Hall is in my district.

My first campaign will be for chairman of precinct 421. I would like to run for state representative, but Tan Parker is good representative and a strong candidate. I'll probably have to wait until he seeks higher office.

Even if they did it wouldn't be enough. . Throw your hat out there no matter what , we need people like you in there.

I usually sell my votes on e-bay , so if you do run PM me and ask about my 15% gmg discount ;)

UNT is Denton's largest employer with almost 7000 positions. It is frustrating to see the city ignore our university.

Not only that look at all the business the kids do in the city.

You would like to think the city would be bending over backwards to help the university in every shape or form.

If you win, can we invade Troy, AL on suspicion of possessing receivers of mass destruction? Is there anything you can do about the mass immigration of Southlake residents who are taking up all our UNT jobs?

But seriously. Seems like your candidacy is a reasonable prospect.

Are you fiscally conservative and socially liberal? Are you beholden to any special interests? If so, and if not, there need to be more people like you running. God help you. Godspeed.

I would not be corrupt, and I would abstain from any votes that would impact those who contribute to my campaign.

I make a good living at my job, and bribery would not only ruin my political career but my private sector job prospects as well.

I have no doubt that you would be the best man for the job but if you are still in grad school it's going to be doubly tough to find time and money for your campaign. On the other hand, you found the time for all of the great work that you did to get the new stadium passed sandwiched around getting married so maybe time isn't much of a factor. If yho can find the funds for a campaign I'd say go for it.

I should be finished with my MBA by then. I have 21 hours left.
