Where be the recruiting board?? Please give the kids name, then at least I can google him. Thanks.

JAVIA_HALL

I like this kid , but not getting too excited yet because scout.com has screwed up numberous times on saying kids committing when they really haven't. Rivals.com is a bit more reliable and has yet to show him as a commit

Javia Hall QB from Dallas Skyline 6'2" 175 4.67 40 yard dash. Rivals gave him 3 stars, but has not listed him as committing yet. Scout has him committed to us. I hope Scout is right. I'm always happy to see a 3 star recruit! Welcome Mr. Hall.

ESPN EVALUATION : Hall is a very intriguing, athletic quarterback to evaluate and plays in a very successful program with terrific skill players around him. Watching him on tape first and then seeing him person gives you a real appreciation for his ability level as a high school quarterback, but it is likely he will be moved to either cornerback or wide receiver at the next level because he is built like a skill position player. Possesses a muscular, yet thin and wiry frame that has little-to-no body fat. He is bowlegged. Is shorter for the QB position at the next level, yet his production level and arm are both very good. He possesses a quick release and adequate zip on the football. He shows very good feet and overall change-of-direction skills and can throw the quick passing game from within the pocket and also be a real factor on the perimeter as a dual-threat prospect. Throws with good touch and timing and will place the football in an area where he can give his target a chance. Throws on the run very well to each side. Works from both under center as well as out of the shotgun and for a player on the shorter side Hall really sees the field quite well and also has a nice feel for timing. Finds throwing windows and can alter his delivery to fit the ball between bodies when he needs to. He has just enough arm strength to be able to make some throws downfield when his feet are set and he has tremendous confidence in his receivers. If he hopes to remain at quarterback, it may not be at the FBS level and he would need to be in the spread offense for sure. Athletically he does some real nice things, but actually isn't asked to make as many plays with his legs as you might think. As a result, it can be tough to gauge his true top end speed and open field quickness, but his feet and hips are quick and smooth. Overall, while Hall does some really nice things at quarterback, it is difficult for us to project him there. He is a good football player with good intelligence for the position and he is highly competitive which we like. We also think this is why he will make a quick adjustment to another position

Thoughts TFLF?

Great grab, local kid to boot.

3 star, Rivals has him as the 25th best pro style prospect

Here are his JR stats: 43 rushes for 130 yds 1td

88 of 145 passing for 1,379 yds 18 tds and 8 ints

We also have 2 offers out to 2 of his teamates.

I would'nt be surprised if he stays at QB.

We need another quarterback that can pass, run and catch. Javia and Riley will both be playing together through the 2010, 2011, and 2012 seasons.

Why not put two quarterbacks in a shotgun formation and make every player on the field a potential receiving threat? The A-11 base offense is one in which a center and two tight ends surround the football, three receivers are split right, three more split left and two quarterbacks stand behind in a shotgun, one of whom has to be at least 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

This signing will enable North Texas to finally make the transition to the A-11 offense.

I would be surprised if Dodge is actually after another pro-style QB when they have one coming in the fall from Granbury? This appears to be one of those players recruited as an "athlete", destined to be moved later.

40-yd dash 4.93

20-yd shuttle 4.56

FWIW. I don't think he's that slow, but even at the low end of that range I wish he were closer to 4.5.

Bow-legged and built like a skill position player @ only 175 lbs is okay in the high school QB position, but not conducive to taking the in-and-out beating on the college level.

Arm looks okay, and I like that he's willing to sit back there and stare down the pressure.

Dodge has said he planning on taking at least 1 QB in every class. I think that the labels for a QB are a little much, unless your way on one side Vince Young, or the other Brad Johnson.

As I understand most coaches like to take 1 qb a year.

Many times on high school teams the QB is just the best overall athlete, not so much the best passer, runner, etc.

He's what, 6'2" and 175 lbs. as a high school junior? I bet he adds weight this year, redshirts his freshman year and ends up around 205-210.

Yeah, in most schools... especially the smaller ones... they do that.

but, i mean that most college coaches take 1 qb to for the qb position a year.

should have at least 4 qbs on the roster and expect to lose 2 the end of every year because of grad, transffers or injury etc.

I know you just couldn't resist a dig at Dodge every time something positive happens.

Sorry, I thought we were just mentioning what we thought would happen with the kid. Looks like a player, I just don't see him playing QB. And looks like a great player in a UNT uniform, I just don't think he will be playing under our current coach. It's not Dodge though, it's any coach that comes in here and has my school playing the way it has for the last 2 years.
