As long as Jerry doesn't bring him to Dallas, I really don't care.

This certainly brings up the debate about pro sports and what it means to our society. Are pro athletes hired mercenaries, or are they highly skilled (and well paid) members of the community, who not only perform athletically for the community, but also represent the moral standards of the community?

I would say yes, although an additional suspension would be in order. I'm just not sure I see a lot of teams falling over themselves to sign him, though.

Have you ever heard of an IDIOT named JERRY JONES...... Pacman is worst than Vick in terms of the risk of getting in trouble.

Why not? He's done his time and it is pro football after all...this would be a non-headline in the scheme of pro football. So, who cares? Let's see how he does and where he ends up...you know, he just might turn out to be a "solid citizen" after this little "time out". We'll see.

If you were a business manager, would you hire an accountant who spent two years in prison for animal cruelty and dog fighting?

If you were a business manager that just gave Pacman a shot, why stop there?

This isn't bringing a man into the white collar world. This is about giving a man another chance at the NFL. Don't try to mesh the two like they're similar.

Yes, if he were a good accountant. Animal cruelty and dog fighting have nothing to do with accounting. Plus, if he's paid his due to society behind bars, he's paid his dues. I mean, Ricky Williams walked away because he wouldn't give up weed and they let him back in. He's any better character-wise than Vick?

It's football, people.

Well (IMHO) yes he is. However, if you are just looking to hire a pure gladiator, then Vick might be a better choice. Assuming of course that Vick hasn't lost any of his athletic edge. Just don't try and sell your team as some sort of "family" to the general public.

HE has paid his debt to society and I think that some team will definately give him a shot. However, there is something to be said about hiring quality people. Look at what the cowboys did this offseason, they got rid of pacman, tank, t o and brought in a bunch of character guys, I think that is the way to go. Besides whoever hires him is going to endure a media circus unlike anything ever seen.

He, in my opinion, is a bad person. I don't know the man and there is always a chance to change my mind... but I think that anyone who does that sort of thing, or condones it, is a bad person and that is going to show up when someone, or some team hires him.

No, because no matter how his attorneys tried to finesse it, he was involved in a gambling operation. Sports leagues never forgive that; perhaps they know something that many of us can ignore: gambling is a very difficult addiction to break, and always draws unwanted attention to teams from league executives. Just as a person, I wouldn't, because I love animals and it would always be in the back of my mind that this is one sick individual who has only shown remorse for being caught. Also, I view him as more of a running than passing quarterback, the reverse of what I want in the NFL.

Did he do a good job of keeping the books for his illegal gambling ring? Did he keep an accurate running total of the number of dogs that won/lost/were drowned and buried in the backyard?

I need all the information to make and educated decision about your hypothetical.

--- I really agree with that one, I found it hard to believe he thought Pacman was worth the risk... and he wasn't. He was total idiot. Cowboys should steer clear of Vick as well. Having said that I do think Matt Jones might be worth the risk... they may be waiting to see if he can keep his nose clean. He is not as high profile to start with...and will not attract a lot of publicity out of the area unless he really messes up. Just put him on a very short lease... and read the riot act to him ahead of time. No personal guards, no excuses, and not one legitimate mess up.

--- I amazes me that these guys will risk millions to smoke marijuana or whatever... Stupid.
