Seriously though, I started having flu-like symptoms yesterday- itchy ears and sore throat, last night stuffy nose and fever, this morning chest congestion and a higher fever.

I hate being sick.

Is this a self-portrait?.........

I think the ears/antennae are a nice touch.

If I could find some green foil, this give me an idea for a new look this fall. B)

On a personal note, my wife came down with swine flu during the last outbreak back in 1976. It was the sickest that she's ever been. She was "bed sick" for almost two weeks.

Her grandfather died from the flu in the 1918 pandemic.

Hmmmmm in deed. Why do I get the feeling there is more to this story than we are being told?

Some selected passages from the linked articles....

The first case was seen in Mexico on April 13. The outbreak coincided with the President Barack Obama’s trip to Mexico City on April 16. Obama was received at Mexico’s anthropology museum in Mexico City by Felipe Solis, a distinguished archeologist who died the following day from symptoms similar to flu, Reforma newspaper reported. The newspaper didn’t confirm if Solis had swine flu or not.
That's really odd.

The new Mexican Swine Flu has elements of DNA from the following: avian flu, human flu Type A, human flu Type B, Asian swine flu, and European swine flu. A strange combination never seen before and having less than 1/10% chance of being a natural event. Human and animal viruses from four or more continents suddenly recombine in a new flu during a non-flu season that spreads from human-to-human with a 10% fatality rating.

Strange as well.

"Those killed have not been in contact with animals," he said. "This probably started with pigs but has now mutated to pass between humans."
Does the flu virus mutate that quickly?

He said the genetic code showed the virus had originated in Eurasia and could have entered Mexico via Texas or California.

Eurasia? Well, at least he narrowed it down for us....

While I'm not so concerned about this one because it seems that most people are getting over it, one of these years I suspect a Pandemic like the 1918 Spanish Flu will happen.
