Top 10 Congressional Porkers

The Citizens Against Government Waste just announced their Congressional Top Ten Porkers List for 2009. "pork" is seen at about $20B in the 2009 fiscal year. While the number of requests for "earmarks" did decline from 11,610 to 10,160, the item that counts, money, actually increased by more than $2Billion. Some of the more "interesting" pork includes:

$1.8 million for swine odor and manure management in Ames, Iowa;

$3.8 million for the Old Tiger Stadium Conservatory in Detroit, Mich.;

$1.9 million for a water taxi servive in Conn., and

$380,000 for fairgrounds in Kolzebue, Alaska.

Nice, if you can get it, right? Since we ALL pay forthsi garbage!!!
