The division lead is now at 3 1/2 games. Rangers win today, 5 - 3, giving this thread an extended life.

Pitching is looking very good... But, it's early

Rangers sweep the Angels with a 3-0 win this afternoon. The game took 2 hours, 40 minutes. Beat Jared Weaver. 4 1/2 game lead, 9 games over .500, 2nd best record in the American league.

KRAM, for gods sake, please go negative on UNT football. It may ensure a winning season!!! :D

Good things ARE happening for the Texas Rangers!!!

NO WAY! GO MEAN GREEN. :P

Yes sir, very good things are happening for the Texas Rangers in May. Hey, you got to give them their due. These guys are playing "lights out". We can all hope it continues.

Don't forget you can catch the first place Texas Rangers @ Detroit Tigers, 6 p.m. Channel 27, KDFI.

4-0 loss (what's up with the offense??). Lead at 3 games, as Angels beat the Ms.

If Detroit gets Willis to pitch like that all season the Tigers are going to walk away with the Central. Verlander, Porcello, E. Jackson, Willis and Bonderman when he comes back is one salty rotation.

Agreed, The ALC is there for the taking. You can make a case for the majority of that division. Good to see BMc go 7 for the 2nd straight game and 2nd time as a Ranger. Verlander tonight will be another challenge.

Wasn't talking about one game. Seems the offense has dropped off a bit this year (yes, I know they lead the league in HRs). It really is nitpicking, but it does concern me.

from the DMN Ranger Blog - Richard Durrett

Saw this a few games back....

As on offensive team, the Rangers hit .263 with 36 HR, 150 RBI, 243 K, 129 BB through the first 34 games of 2008. The stats for 2009: .279 batting average, 58 HR, 186 RBI, 284 K, 97 BB....however this has been a much worse offensive team on the road in recent years. If you have time check out Ian Kinsler's home/road splits - yikes.

Funny the perception one gets. Maybe its because they are competitive in low scoring games, so it seems they are scoring less runs (getting beat 3-1, 4-0, as opposed to 10-1).

Wish we would have the same problem for UNT football this fall.

This team sucks - Rhyner

OK, let's see everyone jump on Rhyner now since he said something negative regarding baseball, and "perhaps" the Rangers. Come on where are you guys when we need you.

GO RANGERS...still your FIRST PLACE Rangers and it is almost June! Yes, very good to wave goodbye to Detroit! What's up with the Rangers when they go to Detroit anyway? Global warming perhaps???? Or, was Bush in town for the series...you need someone to blame it on, it certainly cannot be that Detroit was the better team over this series, can it? UGH! Let's just blame Bush. It's so much easier that way...remember now, let's see everyone jump on Rhyner! Just kidding!:lol:

OK, I'll bite...what does this mean? A jab (maybe...can't really tell) and there I was being kind to the Rangers! Just no respect...no respect at all. I need to go back to knocking the Rangers if this continues when I "play nice" about baseball!:lol:

During Derek Holland's 1st start as a major leaguer my pants indeed moved. So excited about what 'Wonderboy' might do for the Rangers. He still needs to build up the stamina it takes to start every 5th day, but so far I have been blown away with his stuff.
