Not saying that DD was a pioneer or ahead of the curve. Just saying that I think DD was unfairly criticized for his "Stealth" recruiting.

Not so much. PC is tired of losing recruits and I think DD was also. It's more like crappy old stale apples to shiny delicious hormone grown apples

The way I interpreted the article is Carroll is going after recruits publicly and telling them not to make any official public announcement until later. You could still trace his footsteps on all the recruiting services. The point was that he didn't like his competition telling the recruits that so-and-so has already filled the USC position needs, so come here instead.

DD not only kept the signings quiet, he it seemed he kept private who we were even interested in.
