Seriously, I think there's a bit too much tinfoil-hatting and OMG these days because one party is in office and the other isn't. There was a lot of this after the 2004 election, lots of people freaked out about what Bush was going to do. None of it happened. Seriously.

Saw something really interesting the the most recent Gallup poll. 64% approval for Obama vs. 34% approval for Bush when he left office. Add those together, and you get 98%. Tells me that we are still as polarized and uncompromising as ever. It also tells me that we will either get through the Obama administration in decent shape or that 64% of America is incredibly stupid and has had the wool pulled over their eyes.

...if you don't understand that collectivism, a philosophy to which this president and congress subscribes, is the first step towards socialism, then you're not really a student of history. If that is the direction you want to go, then you should be happy, people who support those ideals are now in power. You've won. Those of us who are conservative are very alarmed by what is going on here. You can poke fun at it all you want, but government take overs of healthcare and fortune 500 companies is NOT a win for liberty, the free market and personal choice, which are the things that have, historically, made this country better than the rest.
