In looking from the concession stand on the pressbox side at the spring game to across the highway to the new stadium location I'd estimate from there it was only 300-400 yards away.

As for tailgating, I believe it will be better if you want to take it away from your vehicle. There will be a pond and many trees and greenspace available near the new stadium for shaded tailgating on natural grass instead of concrete.

And we can boast, "We don't tailgate, we boulevard."

I don't see myself carrying a grill, a cooler, a tent, a table, and a bunch of chairs on a 600-800 yard round trip.

You and a bunch of others. I can't see many people pulling a grill, cooler, tent and table 400 yards across and bridge only to have to carry it back BEFORE the game. Especially in the Hot months.

They could just leave the tailgating where it is, and have those larger golf carts like they do at DFW Airport taking the less able and more inebriated to the stadium entrance, with all others having to plan far enough in advance to allow extra time to walk over that bridge (I know, I know, I'm not all that punctual, but I may have to change).

I would also venture to guess that any shady grass covered area immediately outside the stadium will be the new location of the clandestine wristband organizations.

Cut to the gmg posts of "COME SEE OUR TENT IN THE NEW STADIUM TAILGATING MAGICAL GRASSY AREA!" to which you show up and are told "PRIVATE EXCLUSIVE SUPER DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION INVITATION ONLY! GO AWAY!"

Think I'll stay in the parking lot thanks.

Jim, it's great to hear from you and I sorely missed seeing you on Saturday. It was one of the happier days of my life and a long time coming.

Everything is coming together and if I can hold on another couple of years I may get to realize our dream. I hope that I'm not like Moses...just getting to see the Promised Land but not actually getting to enter.

I know that a lot of people contributed mightily to this reality but there is one person who was really instrumental in getting this project moving. Kudos to Ann Clinkscales. I've never met her but I've heard about a lot of good things that she's done. What a great hire!

To you, PlummMeanGreen, hurry and fill your pot of gold from working and get back here at least on game days. And, as NT03 said, we miss your colorful posts. Keep 'em coming.

Jack, thanks for your kind words. I've never thought of you as our "Moses" (but more like Joshua) but in another religious vein (and coupled with the Bible Belt background most of us native Texans were reared) but............. I've been having these recurring dreams that the trump' (in deed) sounded from the the eastern sky (as prophesied) and the 2'nd Coming of Jesus Christ happened alright but it took place...

...the day before the Grand Opening of our new stadium!:huh::(:lol::lol:

GMG!

PS: Jack, my regards to your lovely wife Jessica and...when you have time visit us at: www.SoundWorksDeeJay.com
