Lewisville police believe a 22-year-old man found dead this morning in a vehicle may be a missing University of North Texas student.

Police responded to a call this morning about a white SUV that had been parked for a couple of days near an automotive business in the 2300 block of south I-35 E.

The man, found in the driver’s seat, appeared to have suffered a single gunshot wound to the head, said Lewisville Assistant Police Chief Joni Eddy. No weapon was found in the vehicle.

Police have not apprehended any suspects. Chief Eddy is asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact the Lewisville Police Department.

This is truly sad news. Thoughts and prayers to friends, family and teammates. Sad day for the Mean Green Nation. Who knows what kind of difference he could have made.

It would be nice to see the University award him a degree posthumously. I think in a situation like this where the student is so close to finishing a degree it would be the proper thing to do. If anyone with ties to the university reads this I hope you will take it to the President of the University for her consideration.

That is a great idea Huff. I urge everyone to email Dr. Gretchen M. Bataille at presweb@pres.admin.unt.edu and make this suggestion.

Good idea. I was jumping the gun a little.
