Pitching and the Rangers in the same breath? You simply have to be either kidding or dreaming.

They got a little sumthin sumthin goin on out there at the Ballpark. Lots of young, exciting prospects, and they are PITCHERS!!! Derek Holland is throwing at 100mph. He, along with Neftali Feliz, have the potential to be legit #1 starters as soon as next year (maybe the end of this year, with a little luck). Brandon McCarthey is throwing lights out, with a spring ERA around 1.25 (But can he stay healthy???).

I don't think they'll make the playoffs this year, but look out in 2010!!!

Any amount of pitching at all and they are instant contenders. That middle of the lineup of Kinsler, Young, Hamilton, Cruz, and Davis is murderer's row reincarnated!! (maybe a little over the top) That's not including a healthy Hank Blaylock (who will prob be traded before the mid-season trade deadline) or David Murphy, AKA doubles machine!!

Actually excited for the beginning of baseball season for the first time in years.

am really excited about baseball this season too! As far as McCarthy goes, I don't remember exactly who but I think it was Danks that we traded for him and Danks then went out and posted an around 3.0 ERA forthe following year, if we don't get something out of that guy I am going to be very upset.

I do think that we made a great deal in the Volquez for Hamilton trade, potential Cy Young winner for a potential MVP.... comes out a wash so far,

Pitching is the hardest position to develop in baseball. My fear is the Rangers (of which I'm an avid fan) will rush their talent through the minors. The Rangers exceeded my expectations last year. I hope they can make strides in their bullpen this year.

Don't worry, the Rangers will trade them away before they make the majors so another team can reap the benefits. Pitching and Rangers should never be used in the same breath. Many pitchers do not want to play for the Rangers because the Ballpark is not rated very friendly to pitchers. I find that hard to believe...can any baseball fan out there tell me if that's true or not?
