Pretty boring first day of the tourney. No MAJOR upsets. Tomorrow should be interesting.

If tomorrow goes like this, it will easily be the most boring first round of the tournament in the last.....hell, as long as I can remember. And only 2 at large bids for no power conferences. Coincidence?

You know its bad when you pick 13 of 16 games right and are tied for last in the online pool!! Damn you, Butler and VCU!!!

Well, it's not every year when you get 13 or above seeds winning. Usually a 12 winning is about the best you can expect to get. I hope for some earth shattering upset tomorrow, but 2-4 rarely go down in the first round(and 1 never has).

CSUN had Memphis on the ropes this morning tho!

No MAJOR upsets.

I have some friends who went to Illinois. You'd think they just lost to some third world middle school for the deaf and blind! I don't know if I love the fact that WKU can sneak up on people like that (thus giving me hope for UNT) or if I hate the fact that the Sunbelt conference is so woefully unknown that we could have the Harlem freaking Globetrotters on undetectable steroids in our conference and people would be surprised by a Sunbelt win in the tourney.

I respectfully disagree. You usually always get a 12 beating a 5, and sometimes two 12s come through, so no real surprise. Most years you get at least one 2, 3, or 4 seed that bites it in round one. It just seemed that today was extremely boring, maybe because of no last second, game winning shots.

Then they obviously wern't paying attention to the tourney last year, or the point spread this year. This was the hot pick in Vegas, well, at least at the sports book where my friend was at tonight (If only I'd stayed away from the damn under!!!!!).

Plus. many of the commentators remarked throughout the day that this was the game to watch.

Tell them they just got beat by a better basketball team, that'll completely p them off.

That's because they don't follow college basketball expect for the Big 10. The Hilltoppers have more tradition than most of the schools in the "big" conferences(even if alot of it is from decades back).

Entering this year, in the 24 years since the field expanded to 64/65

1. The #1 seed has beaten the #16 seed all 96 times (100%).

2. The #2 seed has beaten the #15 seed 92 times (96%).

3. The #3 seed has beaten the #14 seed 81 times (84%).

4. The #4 seed has beaten the #13 seed 79 times (82%).

So, I guess we get in average a 15 winning every six years. But only fifteen 14 seeds have won, and seventeen 13 seeds. So also less than 1 a year.

Don't confuse the issue with facts!!! I checked the 06 and 07 tourney. In 06, a 13 and 14 advanced. In 07, no one above an 11 advanced, so I guess it just depends on the year.

Still seemed boring to me today, probably because of a lack of really tight games.

So, are we doing a poll for Gonzaga/WKU?

U betcha! I got the Hilltoppers to the sweet 16.I'm not all that impressed with the Zags this year , even tho Pargo is the real deal.
