Because located in our back yard is a great up and coming in the world of coaching. Just south of UNT there is this guy:

named Boxell who is coaching Ponder. He would be a great fit here with close ties to the Denton area for recruiting purposes. He already has proven himself in winning titles, and developing other head coaches as his son is coaching across town at Krum. He had a 52 game winning streak and will probably win another title this year.

I was to a degree, but it is a good story about a basketball family.

High school basketball in small towns like that is so huge. I've heard the overall attendance numbers are largest for basketball due to these reasons. Some of these places will be so small they may not even have football, but they all support their basketball teams. Until I was 7, I lived in a little town north of Wichita Falls called Petrolia; they had a brutal basketball rivalry with the little town just down the road, Byers. Girls' basketball was taken just as seriously; one of my sisters stayed in Petrolia, living with one of the teachers, after the rest of us had moved to Wichita Falls in the middle of the spring semester, so that my sister could finish out the season playing basketball. Nothing like it!
