I voted "no", but almost immediately regretted not voting "pie", and wished I could change my vote...I'm just another flipflopper, dadgummit! Has anyone here ever been to the Pie Peddlars in Glen Rose? I went in there Friday; ate pie and took pie with me; on Saturday, my wife went in and made me stay in the car and await my "surprise", which was cherry-rhubarb pie. My favorite from there? As always, as anywhere else, pecan.

How about just creating a political forum ??

When I was at Microsoft, there was a political public folder on the Exchange server (approved by senior management in Bellevue!).

Before joining, you had to fill an electronic acknowledgment form that stated it was a profanity-laden forum with controversial topics, and that unless there was something illegal posted (threats of violence, etc.) that there would be no action taken by management.

Imagine some of the brightest people in the software business in an all-out battle royal political forum. It was brutal.

Banning political discussions is insane. Enforce the "no peronal attacks" rule so it stays somewhat civil and let people have at it...

...and if you can't stand sifting through it, create a political forum, and get one or two or four of us who enjoy the debate to moderate it based on your guidelines and then never look at it again.

Just a quick update on how I am grading this poll:

Yes: I ban political discussion.

No: I allow political discussion.

You're a Nazi: I ban the voter.

I like Pie: We shut down Gmg.com and startup NorthTexasPieFans.com

Will there be a chance for appeal and revote? I don't see enough numbers here to believe this accurately represents the opinion of the entire board.

I also think we should take the two finalists and have a vote between them. the idea of getting a northtexaspiefans.com really is swaying my vote.

I don't mind a little political discussion, but let's not rehash everything multiple times.

I like a little political discussion, but there seems to be a lot of rehash.

There seem to be a lot of threads rehashing the same political topics. I mean, I like political discussion as much as the next guy, but I'm just sayin'.

The Pie Peddlars in Glen Rose (I've already mentioned them once, so blame me for repetitious posting) make a business out of staying open only on Saturdays and 2 hours on Fridays (the rest of the time they're kindergarten teachers in the local school district). It seems like a great business for people who like to work, but not too much. The whole pie subject is causing me to have random neuron firings; dies anyone know if there are still any places anywhere in Denton County known for pie? What about the Ranchman's Cafe in Ponder? Just trying to think what being a PieFan would be like, and am really liking those thoughts.

Ranchmans still has great pie. And cobbler... and just about everything else.
