Taxed to excess

Dear IRS,

I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to pay taxes owed April 15, but all is not lost.

I have paid these taxes: accounts receivable tax, building permit tax, CDL tax, cigarette tax, corporate income tax, dog licence tax, federal income tax, unemployment tax, gasoline tax, hunting licence tax, fishing licence tax, waterfowl stamp tax, inheritance tax, inventory tax, liquor tax, luxury tax, medicare tax, city, school and county property tax (up 33 percent last 4 years), real estate tax, social security tax, road usage tax, toll road tax, state and city sales tax, recreational vehicle tax, state franchise tax, state unemployment tax, telephone federal excise tax, telephone federal state and local surcharge tax, telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, telephone state and local tax, utility tax, vehicle licence registration tax, capitol gains tax, lease severance tax, oil and gas assessment tax, Colorado property tax, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma and New Mexico sales tax, and many more that I can’t recall but I have run out of space and money.

When you do not receive my check April 15, just know that it is an honest mistake. Please treat me the same way you treated Congressmen Charles Rangle, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and ex-Congressman Tom Dashelle and, of course, your boss Timothy Geithner. No penalties and no interest.

P.S. I will make at least a partial payment as soon as I get my stimulus check.

He sures spends so much in consumption taxes. I don't really feel sorry for him having to pay his income.

I am sure you realize this but I will say it anyway..... I don't think that was the point of the creatively written, fake, intending to point out an issue regarding the over-taxation of citizens, piece. It also pointed out the hypocrisy of the government officials mentioned in their efforts to increase taxation and their apparent lack of responsibility in paying their own.

But due to the fact that this was a satirical piece, I am sure you knew that.

Taxed to excess

--- Care to guess why the the bold part has really increased in the past 4-6 years? (33% is mild compared to many--"mine") The state has cut funding for schools...(need more local money ie. property tax) . but none your state taxes has been cut, if you are most people ( sales tax, tobacco, liquor, gasoline, etc. ). Also tuition the past six years has skyrocketed...same reason. Guess you noticed in the DMN this week that Texas home insurance in highest in USA ----more than Florida and California with all their problems and nearly double the national average. We are #1 in auto insurance also. (thanks Perry et.al.)

---Sort of funny when some are mentioned... If we still had dirt roads instead of paved inter-states or even back to what we had in the 50's, lousy schools, small police and even volunteer fire departments, and no public hospitals...(our military in 1940 was less than 200,000) then we could eliminate a lot of those taxes...

Satirical? Yes. Fake? Probably not.

Sounds to me like he retreaded all the taxes that he had paid during the year, and a lot of them were from consumption, specifically hunting and fishing expeditions. So if he really feels upset about having to pay income taxes then I don't feel a bit sorry for him.
