when does this madness end???

http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/32...93000_Raise#rss

they have the audacity to keep doing this to us.

They have the audacity of hope. They hope that they can Keep fuc**ng the American tax payer and hope they don't say something.

I hope to god this isn't true. If it is true I can think of no better argument for starting the congress over with people in it that give a shit.

This is actually an increase in petty cash for expenses, not a raise.

I worked on Capitol hill for a long time. $93000 is a hell of a lot of "petty cash." Office budgets were already well over a million per congressman.

flyer....$33,000,000 is $33,000,000 more from us, the taxpayer. what did they do to deserve it, petty cash or not, it is still a raise? Are they rewarding themselves on the trillions they are spending on the so called stimulus package, the 8600 earmarks in the latest spending bill, the billions they are sending to Pakistan (from an earlier post), or the millions they are sending to Gaza? How paradoxical is this when our voted national leaders are mandating the lessening the perks of business yet vote in additional perks for themselves?

I'm not defending it, I'm just saying it's not a raise. It is ridiculous to have that kind of "petty cash".

However, it's one thing to post it on the Internet and grumble about how bad it is... I wonder how many Americans actually pick up their phones or write a letter to their CongressCritters to let them know we are not happy about this at all.

Yep, we were promised change...this is a good chunk of "change", wouldn't you say. CHANGE IS A COMMIN'....that's a change to more debt, higher taxes and more entitlement spending. No change to "pork" and no change to who has to pay for all this crap!

Don't you just love all the "changes" so far? Too funny!

I fully expect that my Republican representative, Michael Burgess, a graduate of UNT, will steadfastly refuse the increase. Although, looking at the bills he sponsors, with the notable exception of abortion, he seems to be siding with Democrats on most legislation.

Wait a sec...this from his website:

Last Friday, when the House of Representatives came together to vote on the fate of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, I made the decision to vote against a bill that I knew would not provide the revival that our economy desperately needs. In our state of economic emergency, this bill—filled to the brim with non-emergency spending—makes a mockery of Americans who are struggling just to get by.

Think I need to send him an email reminding him of his stance. Let's see if he refuses the money.
