Hey, Greeks

Aside from Tasty, are there any active members of the UNT greek community that post on this board? According to some guy on the facebook group for the game Weds. night something called "Greek Unity Night" is scheduled for the exact same time as the game. Could somebody shed some light on that for me, and maybe pass on some contact information for the people responsible b/c this is something we need to nip in the bud as quickly as possible and move Unity night over to the Pit. Thanks in advance

OK. Enough with the bad Greek generalizations. In all honesty, I don't see much Greek presence on this campus. I'll see the occasional sorority girl sitting on the Greek letters emblazoned on her backside, but that's about it. I keep reading about how much supposed influence the Greek community has on campus, but I sure don't see it much. Must be all clandestine or something.

Sometimes the Greeks lay out their schedule before athletic events are announced, and then it may be too hard to reschedule.

That may not be the case here. When was the SBC tourney format/dates laid out?

I am Greek. A member of Pi Kappa Alpha, and on the IFC Executive Board. For the record, I had nothing to do with the scheduling in the first place, but they did move Unity Night to 6pm, to end at 7pm so people can attend the game. People will also be encouraged to go the the game. It is exciting that the University admistration these days will move something for athletics!! This would not have happened a few years ago.

This was my major concern...and excellent news. As an IFC exec. will you make a push to explain the importance of this game and do your best to help get a really visable and vocal greek crowd tonight? That would be all sorts of amazing.

No, Vito started that rumor over a year ago. I withdrew business support of Belo and had them lay off their employees and charge who stayed for parking spaces because of it.

Im a Delta Sig and we got the text that Greek Unity night was moved up to 6p.m. tonight instead of 7p.m. but in my opinion it should have been cancelled....

There was a paid speaker under contract so it could not feasibly been cancelled. After this I am sure in the future things will not be scheduled on the date of the first round home game...
