meangreenbob Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Do you think it might be possible to refer to our Head Coach as Coach Dodge and not Todge and maybe refer to Riley as Riley Dodge instead of Rodge or whatever. Just a idea.

Just a idea.I do TD and Riley but that is just me, I don't really like the Todge and Rodge thing either.

Quoner Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Why?Because no one called Jesus "GeJesus" after His daddy...
Green P1 Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Because no one called Jesus "GeJesus" after His daddy...Wouldn't it be Jod?
UNTflyer Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) Because no one called Jesus "GeJesus" after His daddy...No they didn't, because nobody f%$ks with the Jesus. Edited March 1, 2009 by UNTflyer
Quoner Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Wouldn't it be Jod?Well - it's confusing without the last name in play. Yahweh? Christ?Jahweh? Jrist? It would make the floor puzzle in the third Indiana Jones more interesting.
KRAM1 Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Once again the "Look at me I am cute" folks take over and the poor guy who starts the thread gets no real response to his question. Too bad, but at least the "look at me" folks got their time in the sun once again. OK, sorry, I have to admit that I enjoy some of the "stuff" these guys post, so am not advocating they stop, just asking for a little consideration and decorum at times.I happen to agree with the idea that we should use Coach Dodge, Riley Dodge, TD, RD, Riley, etc. when referring to our head coach and one of our QB's. However, I do not think the idea will get much traction. Just review the previous responses and you will see why. Keep on posting meangreenrob, but don't look for any real thought in some of the responses. It's OK as it is all good fun, you just have to know what's coming and accept it for what it is and enjoy what you get. Some folks just seem to need more attention than others. I'll bet they had the class laughing on a consistent basis all the way through elementary to high school. Man, how would you have likied to have been the teacher? Come to think of it, my teachers had a tough go at times too. Imagine that?

Nicknames are an "integral" part of sports. Boogers!!!!1!(thrown in for cuteness.) Edited March 2, 2009 by Green P1
emmitt01 Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Personally I don't see why K1 has such a hard time with Qner and GP1's cuteness.

Come to think of it, my teachers had a tough go at times too. Imagine that? Man, if only there was someone else who fills up threads with inane crap for attention - maybe someone who truly knows the pain and value of a deep snapper because of his awesome high school football days? Maybe someone who covers up basic ignorance of elementary sports topics and knowledge by claiming to have been baiting everyone all along? I'm not trying to "call anyone out" or make a big "stink," I just think that a "babies" may have been left in the oven "too long" or dropped on their heads. It's all developmentally stilted and it's all GOOD!
KRAM1 Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Quoner...PRICELESS...Loved it! I was waiting to see who would be 1st up in response and am so very glad it was you. Priceless, simply priceless...well done...expected...but, well done none the less! BTW...I NEVER said my HS career was GOOD...go back and read the post. A HS career to forget would be more like it. Thus, the empathy for hard working walk-ons which some folks feel are somewhat "less" than special.Good morning to you! Well done.

I can't believe we got a guy with 3,000 posts to respond. Cum by ya!

It's all developmentally stilted and it's all GOOD!Look...lord knows I'm all for hijinx...but I think we need to pick our spots a little better...certain repetitive threads perhaps need some jack-assery thrown in...as do some of those crazy threads on the Non-UNT Sports board...but this was an original. I think we need to maintain the sanctity of an important topic on how we should or shouldn't use nicknames/shorthand to address our football coach and likely starting quarterback on an internet discussion board that they will never read.Meangreenbob, my apologies for Quoner and Green P1...and to try and get the wheels back on this thread, let me say I support you...I've never been a fan of "Todge." Give me "Southlake Con Man."
KRAM1 Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 CBL...sorry...that last post was not meant as a response to your post.
greenminer Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 If you don't like a harmless nickname, don't use it?
