He's still showing just two offers on rivals...us and Georgia State. Cooley's seen him play...and he dropped a Michael Sturns comparisson...not Sturns game, Brister is an actual point guard...just that he loves the showy pass...he'll put up nice assist numbers, but the turnovers may add up as well

I miss Cooley

The stat line I've found for him...not sure how up to date it is as this is just through 11 games...has him at 14.1ppg, 4.9rpg, 6.2apg, 47% FG, 22% 3PT (but he doesn't shoot many...4-18), 24 steals...but also 4.1 turnovers per game.

He's a risk...but I think he'd be the kinda addition that would make this team better. Josh and Collin's numbers are down this year b/c Ben isn't getting them the ball in rythem and ideal shooting situations.

Not bad #'s at all.

You only wish we had Ben back :D

He was horrible tonight. At least 6 turnovers. Very bad stretch toward the end of the first half and then falling down (which, for some reason, he did a lot tonight) after a key steal with about 55 seconds left and a chance to cut it to 2. He's just not a point. Hopefully this was just a bad game and he can rebound for the last 2 and the tourney.

I still say we win the West going away this year if we had anything close to a true point on this team.

But, man, what an overall ugly basketball game by both teams.

Got to agree with you on that; it was the word that I was thinking towards the end of the game.

Free throw shooting is what got us beat. Once they figured out that we couldn't shoot FTs, they just fouled us every trip down the floor. Very winable game. Crowd size was good, but we get no home court advantage because everyone just sits there is silence for 38 minutes and then if the game happens to be close, they start to make a little noise. Maddening.

Does your trojan have a little prick in it? Do you do windows with that hair?

Of course, the best line of the night goes to clipboard boy. "What happens if you lose the clipboard?"

FT shooting was certainly a factor, but our inability to knock down open jumpers, as well as wide open layups/floaters contributed to the loss as well. UALR is content to junk up the game. They took us out of our transition game, and the refs were more than happy to blow the whistle (on both ends). If we shot a halfway decent percentage from the floor, we win the game. No question in my mind.

A very ugly game, but I left with the feeling that UALR is a beatable team come tournament time.

Attendance? Also, did anyone else see Coach Johnny chase the ref into the tunnel at the end of the game?

GMG!

The officiating was suspect. Not suspect like, "OMG, they're paid by UALR", but suspect as in, "someone needs to turn the foul penalty sliders down, I'm getting fouls for being on the court". Those refs were making everything a foul.

"You touched him, FOUL."

"Touching the ball, FOUL."

"Touching your own man, FOUL."

"FOUL, FOUL."

The officiating was definately not one sided. Both coaches were up in the faces of the officials at some point screaming at them. I'm surprised neither got a technical.

It was this guy.

He was calling all the fouls. He was the guy both coaches were going after.

Here's his stat sheet covering his long and illustrious career of 15 games.

Stat sheet shows he called 55 fouls on Saturday.
