when seeing the same tired crap on the field changes then the comments will change.

if you don't like it, then quit supporting the university and just go away. i understand wanting change and the best for the school, but constantly being negative and complaining about everything WON'T DO CRAP!

What is wrong with you people, many predicted it would take at least three years to turn this program around. Everyone wanted it to happen overnight, but we all knew it would most likely be a bitter pill. Now there are a bunch cry babies all over this board. Crap no I am not happy either, we are going into the third year of the Dodge era, this is where the rubber meets the road. He will either have significant improvement or he won't. Now what is improvement? Improvement is by nature of sports somewhat of an intangible, but I think we will know it. I expect to move out of last place or the bottom three of Division 1a. I want to be in or be competitive in most of the games. I will not set a win/loss line, though I know I would like to see 6 wins as an optimist.

---No one argues the coment to give him three years to turn it around....but we are now in freefall.... we just allowed 50 points per game and somehow won one game (that is the amazing part) ... No one in the history of NCAA division one has ever done that poorly before. Any criticism leveled here is justified ... we are not doing as well as were, much less improving.

---Improvement... first it means not doing worse.... and then it means being more competitive and hopefully getting more wins. Allowing an average of 50 points is not being more competitive.

You have made several amazing comments, regarding steroid use by NT

athletes. Wow, you are a man in the know! Are you in the athletic department?

Prove your claims-

1. "a kid that 2 months ago was 200lbs". Who would this kid be?

2. "SLC Pharmacy- just ask Padron". I want you to call up Padron,

and you ask him to go public with his secret knowledge, and

confirmation with names, dates, and how the SLC Pharmacy

is managed. With the Padron brothers at $MU, I would guess

you would also say the $MU team is using juice?

3. What is a "Big Bottled Headed" kid anyway? I have never heard that one.

4. UNT2012 is right on? Right on about what?

I think your comment on steriod use is just gossip crap that you want to

beleive, and now, try to throw it out to the Mean Green fans.

Why don't you go visit with Rick V, to prove you point. Bring Padron

along for fun too. Brett Vito would be there is a heartbeat, so do not

leave Brett out. Steriod use by the NT football team? Jeez-where does

this crap come from?

Giant head? Brett Vito is on steroids???

You didn't hear a peep about steroids until the Pizza Inn Nazi showed up...

I saw the pizza Nazi at the basketball game. We lost, coincidence? How did he get the name JoJo? He does have HGH head though.

Me too. The way he shamelessly recruited and led the low income children out of the building was extremely brazen -- even for him.

Now wonder we had at least 6 shots go halfway down and pop out -- evil was afoot.

So, are you saying that Dodge should have magically improved this program with basically one recruiting class under his belt?

Constantly shilling for the current state of affairs "WON'T DO CRAP" either. The game isn't won and lost here on the board. Unfortunately for Todd Dodge, he's got to prepare the team for success on the field. And, unfortunately for the team, he's never been part of a college staff that has produced as much as even a .500 season.

Until the proof is on the field that he knows what he's doing, it's fair game to question whether or not he knows what he's doing. Following up a 2-10 campaign with a 1-11 campaign doesn't really lend credence to notion that he has a clue about what to do at this - this Sun Belt - level of college football.

Currently, this battle station is not yet fully operational...and Luke is rapidly approaching, with Han and Chewy backing him up:

Mack Brown in his first year at North Carolina was 1-10. In his second year he was 1-10. In his third year he was 6-4-1. After that he had 8 consecutive winning seasons and went to six straight bowl games! Back off punk.

Don't waste your time trying to get some of these foks to say anything positive about UNT. It's just not in them it seems. Just keep posting and enjoy the board. It is fun and is really no different than anything else...there will always be folks who want to find something wrong with everything. That's OK, just keep supporting the Mean Green. Like alot of foks, they'll jump right on the bandwagon when the winning starts...and right off it again if there are a couple of losing seasons. It's just the nature of the game and it's a choice. Hopefully, their negativity will not get in the way of their overall support for UNT.

Nailed. What an incredible, original counterpoint.

Lynch will not have an answer.

Mack already had a track record from Tulane.

Kirk Ferentz is the only one to dig himself out of a hole like Dodge has dug in his first job. Bill Curry did, to a lesser extent.

Excellent point! Mack Brown had experience and he still bombed his first two years.

Yes, and Mack Brown had a steeper climb in the ACC than Dodge has in the Sun Belt. And, despite that steeper climb, Mack's team wasn't being blown out week after week.

In 1988, Mack's Tar Heels played four lost games within 6 points, and only gave up 40+ twice.

In 1989, they had five losses within 7 points, and gave up 40+ three (one of those was for 50).

Compare that to Dodge, in the Sun Belt:

In 2007, only two losses were within double digits, opponents scored 40+ six times, (of those, 50+ three times, 60+ three times, and 70+ twice).

In 2008, only one loss was within double digits, opponents scored 40+ ten times (of those, 50+ four times, 60+ once, and 70+ once).

It also should be obvious that comparing Todd Dodge to Mack Brown is the ultimate in comparing apples to oranges. Mack had been a coordinator and a head coach at the Divison I level before North Carolina hired him. Todd Dodge had only had a swim through I-AA for a pair of losing seasons - and those were over a dozen years before he was hired as head coach at UNT. There is no serious coaching comparison to be made between these two men.

White.

Look good in orange.

Got a commitment from Riley Dodge.

"The exception [that]proves the rule" is a frequently confused English idiom. The original meaning of this idiom is that the presence of an exception establishes that a general rule exists.

I always thought it was just a misspeaking from the proof by contradiction.

For example:

The Converse of "If P, Then Q" is the assertion "If Q, Then P". For example, the converse of "If it is my car, it's red" is "If the car is red, then its mine." It should be clear from this example that there is no guarantee that the converse of a true stement is true.

Proof by Contradiction is often the most natural way to prove the converse of an already proved theorem.

The test asked you to use Proof by Induction... no credit.

The doom and gloom you keep reading is a result of Dodge not having much of a leg to stand on. As has been discussed before, DD was even bearable because throughout those last two years we could all point to the 4 year run and spin some semi-legit positives about it. Mack had that luxury at NC, regarding his past at Tulane. Dodge does not share any of that.

His amazing run at Southlake becomes watered down when you realize what other coaches did at Southlake. Even his 49 game winning streak is not even the longest at SLC. Take a look at Dodge's overall HS record and it does kind of rain on the apologists' parade.

The big picture is not much to behold right now with Dodge at the helm. Let's hope he pulls the Mack/Ferentz and turns this thing around.

Nonsense! Cheap rhetoric that does nothing but waste the time of the unfortunate souls who happen to stumble onto this place.
