So is that supposed to justify a 50 pt Ass-kicking?

I thought watching it that the Mean Green women were trying to be real physical defending and there were a couple of instances where the MT women got the worse end of some matchups and may have got the MT women even more motivated than usual...

I only listened to the game, so it is hard to tell; but it seems your coach was taken a chance leaving his star Clark in the game for 36 straight minutes in a physical blow out game. I guess he wanted to make sure she remained the top scorer in the nation. Your second team would have won the game today by thirty, running up the score on a first year coach seemed strange.

when mtsu women are beating sbc teams by 20-40 (or so) points per game....yea, i would say a 50 point butt whipping would not be out of the question, occasionally. nt women are not competitive. heck, if the men would be doing what the women are doing you would be calling for the "head" of the coach. perhaps the women's coach can turn things around. just about every team in bb, men and women, gets a "big-un," hung on 'em sometimes.....really no big deal....that is just the way things go in "all" sports. loosen up your panties and take a breath dude.

-------------------------

as an afterthought-

1. mtsu women are trying to break into the top 25 so why shouldn't they hang as much as they can on opponents to give them an additional boost??

2. some posters, and i am not picking on you bowler, complain that unt should hang more on our opponents and not give up so many points at the end of the game like they have during the last three games when we were ahead by 20-30 points. so, what is the difference?? at least they didn't lose 100-0.

I guess the most points ever scored against a team and perhaps the biggest losing margin would qualify as an "big-un" hung on them. People would be calling for the head of the coach if this was not her first year playing with none of her own recruits and yes, gave a hoot about women's basketball. I think JJ did the right thing calling off the dogs with a 35 point lead against ULL. I think the MUTS coach leaving his star player in the game till 4 minutes left in the game with over a 30 point lead for about 20 minutes against a clearly beaten team with a first year head coach was questionable at best. Did you even listen to the game? The MUTs not only left their starters in till almost the very end, but were pressing most of the game. I don't particularly want mercy from the MUTS or care if NT got beat by 80, but I do question why a coach would want to run up a score against a conference opponent and risk having his players hurt while tempers were obviously up on the part of NT. In additon, it seems that the MUTS with a short bench would want to get them as much playing time as possible. I doubt Insell scored a lot of points with most fans and coaches outside of Tennessee by his actions. I assume you would have though it would have been a-ok if Rice had scored over a hundred against NT in football, they did everything but take a knee on every play in the second half to keep from running up the score.

Nope. Your coach should have called off her press, and we would have called off the dogs.

Moreover, your girls were so winded that they resorted to fouling, because they couldn't keep up. It got nasty out there.

One of our low post starters went out with injury, so we had to keep Clark in there for a longer period of time.

Every player from our bench scored (we have just 10 players, and with one out we had 9). Every player played at least 4 minutes.

Also........ we are getting ready for the NCAA Tourney. We wanted to play some of our subs with our starting lineup, in case we need them at that time. We have a Juco transfer that is starting to come on, and she needs to be in the game with Clark, because she'll be the "5" and Clark the "4". We didn't need two "5"'s in there at the same time. We needed to play our subs in "game time" situations. We were also practicing some new plays--- like some back-door cuts with our point guard, etc.

Your young coach learned a valuable lesson on Sunday, I hope. It is very rare for a team to keep pressing like your team did when the game is so far out of reach.

That said.......... we did run clock when we could. When you pressed, we kept getting easy layups. We could have broken the scoring record easily, and we dribbled out the last 30 seconds or so.

Geez, I am glad you dribbled out the last 30 seconds and played everyone at least 4 minutes. I would have hated for you to lose that 50 point lead. I am sure Stephens appreciated the coaching lesson. There is no way you can justify not taking Clark out for one second until 4 minutes in the game, but you tried. I am sure if she had broken an ankle playing in that 36 minute in a physical game your coach might have got some heat. The NT men's coach had exactly the same scenario against ULL, he took out every starter with a 30 point lead and endured ULL's full court press and hot dog dunks the last 10 minutes and settled for a comfortable win. I am glad he had a lot more class than your coach and didn't decide to teach them a lesson.

Someone should really write down those unwritten rules somewhere. I get confused easily.

There's really only 2:

1. Don't win 100-0.

2. Stop bitching when you get beaten by a significantly better team...just get better.

But if we lose 100-0, the Ticket might challenge us to a charity game.

Son, do you live on this board?? I am personally amazed at the number of posts you make daily as do others.....

Q, spend the amount of hours you spend on this board with your "NEW BRIDE."

If your goal is to break PMG's record go for it......I totally stand behind you.....

Look at where I'm from - of course I live on this board.

If I ever break PMG's record, I kind of want you to promise to sock me in the groin with a bicycle seat.

No offense, heavy posters.

Your girls played "dirty" ball, and Rick Insell and our ladies aren't going to back off. We have had many games this year when it could have been a much wider margin of victory, and other teams didn't keep fouling. Insell called off the dogs.

Call me crazy - I am not a fan of a 55 point loss, but if my school or team is going to get that sort of a beating, I do like the fact that the teach and coaches never gave up and kept running their game.
